Burn Fat Fast With Hill Sprints
Dear Friend,
Was reading a fitness magazine yesterday. To
the magazine's credit they had an article on the
benefits of interval or sprint training.
The article fell short in a couple areas, though.
First, it said that you only need to do the sprints
once or twice a week.
Typical bodybuilder yap-yap. "Don't train too much,
sonny, just get off the couch once a week and you'll
be fine."
My advice has always been as it is now. Do something
everyday. You wouldn't exercise your dog once a week -
what make you think a human body is different.
The second blunder of the article was telling people to
run their sprints at 100% intensity - that this was the key
to truly benefitting from sprints.
Okay, I get it. Run sprints once a week - twice a week at
most - but when you do, go full boar.
This is dumb for a number of reasons. The biggest is
that a person who does not regularly do sprint training -
or who does NOT work into it via a progressive system,
is VERY likely to pull a hamstring or injure a knee.
The fact is that the sprint or burst does NOT need to
be 100% to be effective. It only needs to be vigorous
enough to get you huffing and puffing. A sprint at 70 or
80% can produce this effect. Also, to jump right into
sprint training at 100%, when you aren't accustomed
to doing them, is recipe for disaster.
I always recommend that you start with hill sprints, and
for a number of reasons.
One, a good hill gets you huffing and puffing really fast.
Second, when you begin working the hills, it is hard to
start right out with 100% intensity sprints. In fact, simply
running the hill or briskly walking them will be enough for many
people.
Third, because it is difficult to come close to 100% sprint
intensity, chances of pulling a hamstring are minimal.
Now, in Florida where I live, t'ain't many hills. There are
in other parts of the state - but not Tampa.
So what do I do?
I pull out a copy of Combat Conditioning and observe the
marvelous workouts in the back. Not only does the book
contain a basic hill running workout - but there is one that
I guarantee you cannot do at 100%, no matter how hard
you try.
Will it give you results? Oh, yes. Like nearly nothing else.
And when you combine this form of running with Hindu
pushups, Hindu squats, bridging and so on .... look out!
Your step will become like a burst of springtime. The butter
burners within will start cooking the fat off your body. And
throughout your entire system you will feel the extraordinary
power that accompanies being on the perfect fitness training
regime.
Kick ass - take names!

really is a place called Furey Central. You can find out all
