Business Workout 101
Dear Friend,
Dave Dreher thought he was coming to town for "help"
with his New Jersey based personal training business.
That he was - but my way of consulting is different than
most. It's not just a job to me; it's an opportunity to give
someone what I like to call "The Experience."
Depending upon the situation, "The Experience" will vary
- but one thing is certain, at the end of the day, they will
have gone through a memorable event that they will NOT forget.
Yesterday was such a day for Mr. Dreher.

I picked him up a few minutes before 10 a.m. He was already
waiting outside the hotel – and when he saw me pull up in my
yellow H2, he was all smiles.
"I was hoping you would drive this today," Dave said.
"You know," I replied, "when I was leaving the house I
grabbed the keys to another car, out of habit. But then
I remembered, better drive the HUMMER today, otherwise
this guy'll feel cheated. So here she is."
"Nice," said Dave. "This is my first time riding in one."
A few minutes later Dave and I sat in a coffee shop discussing
business. After 90 minutes I got restless and told him I'd like
to show him where I train.
Once inside the gym I told Dave to change into workout gear.
"For what?" he says.
"You'll see," I said.
Dave changed and re-emerged a few minutes later. We walked
over to one of the large gymnastic mats and I told him, this is
where I do a lot of work. "Now, watch this," I said.
I grabbed the Power Wheel from Lifeline USA, put my hands on it
and gave it a whirl. When I finished I handed the Power Wheel to
Dave. "Here, your turn," I said.
"You want me to do what you just did?" Dave asked.
"Yes."
"But I came here for a consultation ..."
"You're getting it," I interrupted. This is Business Workout 101.
This is how I get many of my ideas. Now haul arse."
Even though the workout was rigorous and tough, afterward both of
us felt rejuvenated. That's what a great workout does to you. It
doesn't beat you down – it builds you up. And that's why I prefer
Combat Conditioning and all my other programs to weights. When
you train with weights, you tear your body down to rebuild. Body
weight calisthenics are totally different. You get in harmony with
your body and teach it what it naturally wants to do.
Following Business Workout 101, Dave and I spent the rest of the
afternoon talking about his personal training business. Without a
doubt his mind was sharper and more alert, and my job of helping
him was a whole lot easier. Amazing how a good workout "softens"
up the brain in a good way. Like I say, "15 minutes of good training
yields 2 hours of increased productivity."

Well, that's all for now!

article - wherein I give the exact details of the workout Mr.
Dreher went through with me, join the Matt Furey Inner Circle.
