Combat Conditioning Questions ... and More

Dear Friend,

Got up this morning and stretched like a cat - albeit on one of those Swiss Balls - looked through some of your emails that got forwarded - and I'm ready to rock. Stand back - got some lethal (but safe) firepower coming your way. Let's get started:

Matt,
I have mailed you several times before but no reply has ever come from you, Guess you didn't receive them. I wonder is there any bodyweight exercises that works both medial and anterior deltoid? All push-up variations only work front of the shoulder, isn't there even one exercise that works entire shoulder (not counting the rear deltoid, chin ups and pull ups deal with it:)) Please help me with that. I also wonder is there any routine that I can do that can help my arms to grow longer a bit? Is it possible with some special stretching exercises?

Alko

M.F.: Alko, first off, I only respond to email in these tips - not personally. I receive hundreds and hundreds of emails per day so it is impossible for me to do so. Second, if you want regular access and answers to all your questions - then join my Inner Circle at www.mattfureyinnercircle.com - it is well worth it. Now, regarding your comments about pushups, if you think ALL pushup variations only work the front of the shoulder you must not do very many. Or you've got some goofball at the gym giving you his two-cents worth (and if he charged that much you would be overpaying). I can't think of a pushup that doesn't work both the front and medial deltoids. My goodness, just place your right hand on your desk and push. Then take your left hand and feel the medial deltoid contract. Last of all, I've heard of a dominatrix that might be able to help make your arms grow longer, but I can't recall her name at this time.

Dear Matt,
I am a fan of Combat Conditioning to say the least; to say the most I preach to everyone the power of your way. I have a question on the hill sprints or activating the human growth hormone. During my workout, I will do a set of handstand pushups then I do Hindu squats hard and fast for 35 seconds, catch my breath, then do a set of pull-ups, then another set of Hindu squats hard and fast for 35 seconds ... and so on until I complete my routine, My concern is will I get the same results? As I would with say sprinting or skipping rope? Be aware that I am 41 years old and I would say that I am stronger than I have ever been in my life. I love all your products that I have bought . I just want to make sure I am going to get were I want to go with my routine. Any wisdom would be greatly accepted and appreciated.

M.F.: Pat, the routine you described is great. You're basically doing circuit training with Combat Conditioning. Love it. It will yield great results. It is not exactly the same as hills sprints or jumping rope - but the effect will be very much the same. Key is using compound movements that leave you winded. Keep kickin' A.

Matt,
I know a lot of people get into your programs to lose weight. But what about folks such as myself who are on the skinny side and would like to bulk up? Will Combat Conditioning work for us to add pounds? What particular exercises do you recommend? What sort of diet do you recommend for gaining weight in a healthy way that doesn't "clog" you up?

Esly Caldwell
Miami, FL

M.F.: Esly, there is NO exercise that makes you "gain weight." There are exercises that naturally increase production of testosterone and growth hormone, which greatly help you gain weight - if you'll "eat more." If you do the Royal Court and increase calorie consumption, you will gain weight. I understand your concern about "clogging up." If you take some fiber and pharmaceutical grade fish oil each day - visit www.drdavesbest.com for more information - you should be fine. Key thing is you've got to make a decision. Do you want to be skinny and weak - but "unclogged" - or bigger and stronger than you are now?

Hi Matt,
I have been reading your newsletter with some interest for some time now, and have a few questions about your Combat Conditioning. My main concern is whether someone who has had knee replacements and is probably looking at a shoulder replacement can use your program to get in to the best shape physically that is possible for them. I have been working out in a gym for coming up on four years now and have made a lot of gains, but my left shoulder has gotten much worse during this time. I have used the machines for weight training and the cross trainer (elliptical machine), treadmill, stationary bike and walking on the track. I am a fifty nine year old woman with a lot to do with my life yet and want to find the best program for me to follow. Thank you for any help you can be.
Mary P.

M.F.: Mary, I admire your enthusiasm and zest for life. So many people lack this and no wonder they get nowhere. Regarding Combat Conditioning, I don't think it is perfectly suited for you, as is. You should, however, be able to do wall chair instead of Hindu squats. As for pushups, you'll have trouble. My book Combat Abss has plenty that you should be able to do without bothering your knees or shoulders. That may be better for you.

Matt,
Your products have been a complete rejuvenation in my life. At 48 years old I lost interest and motivation to exercise: not enough time, hours of aerobics to see results, you gotta lift heavy weights or you won't see results, on and on and on. Your program is absolutely the most results- oriented I have ever seen while shattering all those myths. For that I say Thank You! I highly recommend it to everyone, as a matter of fact, I am a real estate coach and I send all of my clients from all over the country to your website and I get nothing but incredibly positive reports back from them. If you have another internet marketing seminar after the one in Tampa, please keep us posted, I will be there. Thanks,
Tim Tully

M.F. Thanks Tim. You're the best. We're nearly sold out for this seminar - - don't have plans right now for a repeat, but you never know. All the best to you.

Well, my friend, that's all for now.
