Eating in Paris
Dear Friend,
Did something last night I never thought I'd do. I ate
in Paris.
Not Paris, France - mind you. Paris - in Las Vegas.
Had myself quite a meal, I did. And during my dinner
I was asked how I get so much done while appearing
to be so incredibly relaxed.
Tis a good question. And it reminds me of how much we
can learn from a baby.
What do I mean.
Well, if you extend your finger to a baby, he will grasp it.
Yet, the rest of the baby's body remained relaxed. The
only muscles engaged are those in the hand.
And so it is with anything - including exercise.
When you exercise you pay attention to what you don't
"flex" or contract as much as what you do.
For example, when doing Hindu squats and pushups, you
do not furrow your brow. You keep your face relaxed.
When bridging, you do not tighten your jaw or contract
your diaphragm. You relax into the deepest stretch you
can - and whilst doing so you keep calm.
This same skill should and can be extended to virtually
everything else you do - in your career as well.
When you set yourself down to do something, relax and
do it. Don't frown, flex or add stress to the equation. Not
necessary, not good - and of no help.
Later on during our food chomping, one of the people at the
table with me told how exhausted he is after giving a one-hour
speech.
"I used to feel the same way," I said. "Yet, last week you saw
me speak for five straight days - and when it was over I still
had plenty of gas left in the tank. The difference is that now
I relax and let it flow. Before I didn't."
So you see, everything I am teaching you in Combat Conditioning,
Gama Fitness and so many of my other programs - extends FAR
beyond mere health and fitness. The concepts can be universally
applied - with superior results.
Kick butt - take names,
