Results from Five Second Abs
Dear Friend,
A few weeks ago a man in his 50's wrote in to
say that he does the "five second abs" flex while
holding the top position of the Hindu pushup.
And for the "first time in his life" he has a six-pack.
I replied by saying that he had just divulged a
Furey secret.
Which he had.
Incidentally, in the monthly CD for the Matt Furey
Inner Circle I literally walk each student through an array of
stomach flexing exercises, combined with deep breathing,
that totally rule. So if you're not an Inner Circle member
yet - you may want to consider becoming one because
I truly do coach you step-by-step in each monthly CD.
Anyway, the key thing to understand that all the dumb-
dumb fitness schmexperts have zero clue about, is the
absolute importance of "mixing" deep breathing with
abdominal flexing. If you simply flex and release your
abs, you'll get some benefit - but nothing close to the
benefit you'll register when you do it the way I teach in
Combat Abs.
The whole key is deep breathing. In fact, when you observe
someone exercising, you can often determine the
psychology of the person by tuning into the sound and
pattern of their breathing. I don't know how I figured this
truism out - but it just occurred to me one day whilst
watching a lady in my former gym breathe.
She'd let some air out - but only a bit at a time,
and in a manner that no one else could hear. I won't
go into all the details, but this type of breathing pattern
won't get you the type of fitness results you want. Or
much of anything else, for that matter.
Remember, your breath is your power. If you want more
power in your life - then breathe deeper.
Another man, whom I met last year, breathed loud
enough for all to hear 100 feet away. But you'd think
each inhale and exhale was going through a shredder.
Naturally this person had a philosophy of "everything is
difficult" and "nothing comes without hard, hard work."
Upon recognizing his breathing pattern I asked him a
few questions, and sure enough, he was stressed to the
max, physically and mentally. I encouraged him to breathe
fully and deeply without the added sound effects, and to
start making life easy. He listened to the advice and his
skills soared.
The key to success in everything is "getting into flow." It
is getting to a point where you are "doing" while remaining
relaxed.
In Combat Abs
deep breathing with abdominal contractions is emphasized in
the Magnificent Seven. Breathe, contract, move and get in the
flow.
In Combat Conditioning
all the movements are to be done with deep breathing as well as a relaxed
mind and body. All of this is essential to your success.
Okay, what if you don't have a relaxed mind and body?
Well, you'll soon get one when you do the Fureyous exercises
I teach. They truly grab hold of your mind and focus it on the
road to success.
Kick butt - take names!
