Flu Fighters and Water Gulpers Beware
Dear Friend,
Had a long talk with my good friend, Lama Lar Short,
last night, which reminded me that I better tell you
WHEN to gulp water.
Yes, there is a time to do so.
The first is when you arise in the morning. Lama recommends,
and rightly so, that you drink a quart of water as soon as you
arise - and preferably in one shot. This means you'll want to
have a quart or liter bottle handy.
At this time of day, gulping a quart of water (before breakfast)
helps flush your stomach and gastrointestinal tract. When
you arise in the morning you're somewhat dehydrated. Plus, the
very act of sleeping forces your body to begin cleansing itself.
And so, to flush the mucous and other debris from your stomach,
intestines and kidneys, start the day with a quart of water.
If you don't have a quart bottle, then chug two glasses of water
as fast as you can.
This is a practice I began per Lama's recommendation quite awhile
ago and it is incredibly powerful in improving digestion.
The other time of the day to gulp water is during a vigorous workout
in which you are sweating your arse off. Be careful not to drink too
much - like some of those marathoners who drink so much water
whilst running that they die. But do have enough to feel energetic
and mentally alert.
Other than that, if you need water during the day, try to get as much
as you can via green or white tea, which is sipped all day long.
Forget the coffee, diet and sugary sodas. Forget the sweetened waters,
the sports drinks and all those other idiot concoctions.
This alone will help you lose excess body flab, strengthen your immune
system and make you healthier.
Earlier today, Susan, from California, wrote to tell me the following:

I keep it with me everywhere so I can make tea and also for the visual
reminder that
I will soon be an Internet Enterpreneur. I've actually kicked coffee
(something I never

I feel a lot better and have lost five pounds! Once I decided to eat
and drink for my health,
not my weight, then the weight started coming off. Interesting how
that works.

In addition to drinking green and white tea, make sure you're taking a
daily supply of
elderberry, chokeberry and other berries like bilberry, black currant
and so on. No
matter what you've heard, you cannot beat the anitoxidant power of
chokeberry and
elderberry ... and anyone who says broccoli and spinach are best is
grossly misinformed.
Although broccoli and spinach - as well as kale (if you can eat it) are
powerful in and of themselves, and are highly recommended by me, they
are not as powerful as elderberry
and chokeberry. And not just because el Fure-cat says so.
Por ejemploy, in a Tufts University study of ORAC ratios, which
measured antioxidant
capability in Trolox equivalents (TE/g) per gram, you'll read the
following:
chokeberry - 76
elderberry - 61
kale - 17.7
spinach - 12.6
broccoli - 8.9
The key thing is that you eat from all of the above, i.e. the entire
color spectrum. But
for now, due to the flue season, it is imperative that you get on the
elderberry and
chokeberry. They are proven, powerful co-stimulators of the immune
system.
The best place to get these unique flu-fighting and immune building
anthocyanins.
