Matt Furey Wants YOU to Read His Uncensored Opinions |
|

Today's the last day of September - and it may be the last
chance you ever have to say "yes" to a new you.
Each day you receive messages that are meant to guide you
toward a life of improved health and peace of mind. And each
day you have an opportunity to change your life - or to refuse.
Saying "yes" to a better life is ultimately a better choice - but
some people are afraid of having a better life. Why? Because
it requires some sort of shift in how you live, what you do, the
way you think, and so on.
Tis always easier, albeit more painful, to stay with the familiar
than glide into a better way of living. Making a choice to move
in a new direction, however, will help unravel the pain, remove
the kinks and bring greater energy and well-being into your life.
And I've done everything I can to make things as easy as possible
for you to make a shift toward the positive. I give away my international
best-seller, Combat Conditioning, for nuthin, as well as other gifts
that are destined to become classics.
All you have to do to receive them is reach out and say "yes" to a
better life. All you have to do is let the good to flow your way. Anyone
can block the good from flowing into his or her life. It takes guts, courage
and a feeling of self-worth to allow what you really want to happen.
So now the question remains, when are you going to display the guts
and courage to reach for what you want?
Why not today.
Go to http://www.mattfurey.com/furey_inner_circle.html
Or come along with me in a different way by going to
http://mattfurey.com/fg324trfsr3ttai.html
Again, lots of gifts for you. Get 'em now.
Best,
Matt Furey

Inner Circle Member. We now have video clips in the online, member's

When it comes to the subject of money, it is astounding
how much people simultaneously desire it while holding
negative feelings of guilt and shame about it.
And the truth is that you attract things into your life in
accord with how you feel about them. Money is no exception.
You can say that you want more of it. You can say
affirmations for more. You can visualize having more.
But ... if you don't FEEL good about having it, if you feel
guilty or ashamed and undeserving of having it - you won't
be able to attract it.
Money is a good thing. It's important. Those who say
otherwise are merely paying lip service to a cliche
that they themselves, via their actions, don't really believe.
Those who say money isn't important are the first to ask for
a handout or a discount. Those who say money is not important
are also the first in line to cash their checks.
On the other hand, those who have money are in a position to
help themselves AND others. Hence the saying, the best thing
you can do to help the poor is NOT be one of them.
All around you there are people who want more of the abundance
available, even though they may claim otherwise. Many people,
when they sense you have more than they do, will get jealous. And
they will showcase their envy in a variety of ways.
Some years back a man told me how he reacted to those who
were jealous of his financial status. He said, 'No one tries to
tear down somebody who already is. The fact that they're trying
to tear me down is a good sign.'
How true.
One of the things that helped me over the emotional money
hump was when I placed financial success on the same wave-
length as sports.
As an athlete, no one ever criticized me for trying to win too
much (although that can happen, too). And I never felt bad
about winning championship after championship. I never felt
that I was 'greedy' when I won five blue ribbons in a swimming
meet while others got none. I never felt bad about myself when
I won a wrestling tournament while my teammates lost.
And so, why would it be okay for me to win tournament after
tournament, and be rewarded for doing so, but it was somehow
not okay to be rewarded for improving my financial status.
When I reflected on the issue this way, I changed my emotional
money hump to a financial launching pad.
You can, too. If you want to.
What I have just described is the crux of Psycho-Cybernetics.
I looked at previous successes, namely those I had in sports.
I noted all the good feelings I had in the athletic arena. I noted
that my feelings about money were the opposite of those I had
about sports. Once I ferreted out the negative, I went into the
Theatre of My Mind and I transformed those feelings to positive
ones.
In short, I changed my self-image about money.
Want a financial blueprint for success? Then convert negative
feelings about money into positive ones. Do this and money
will beat a path into your wallet or purse.
If you can imagine it, it will come.

the present, go http://www.psycho-cybernetics.com/success_group.html

All of life is a metaphor for change, for
growth. Even the reading of a book that
you might think is for "entertainment."
I'm not one of those who read Moby Dic
as a youngin. Nope, I read it as an adult -
and it is one of the most profound and
inspiring books I've ever read.
Yet, the inspiration I get from a book like
this pales in comparison to the meditations
and visualizations I create from it - mixing
them with Psycho-Cybernetics techniques
and principles.
I can assure you, my Moby Dick meditation
is something that Dr. Maltz would be proud
to see used in conjunction with the principles
he championed.
Make sure you get this visualization sent to
you by becoming a member of the Psycho-

Yesterday my wife was gracious enough to remind me
that TO-Day is our wedding anniversary. So when I woke
up this morning, I was wise enough to start the day with
'Happy Anniversary, Baby."
13 years ago today I got off a plane in Guiyang, China.
I flew there by myself - after spending a few days in
Guangzhou with the man who helped translate letters
back and forth.
Then, when I boarded the plane for my wife's hometown,
I did so with three dictionaries in tow. The first, a small
pocket-sized, the two others were considerably bigger.
And boy, did I ever need them at that time.
When I got off the plane I had to walk from the runway
to the baggage claim. No big deal, right? Well, it was when
you consider the baggage claim was OUTSIDE. In 1993, China
was a very different place than it is today.
I spotted my wife and her sister waiting for me, along with their
Uncle, who had some English speaking skills. The ladies faces were
caked in white makeup, signifying a very special event.
One week later we were married. I wrote in my journal that day,
"Today was the wedding - now on it's the marriage." Two
very different things, eh?
Anyone can put together a wedding. But staying married, even for
a year, is an accomplishment these days. Staying happily married
is even more challenging.
My parents have been married for 55 years.
WOW.
We've got 42 years to go to catch them. Double wow.
In a few minutes I'm taking Zhannie out for breakfast. I'll be eating
according to the revisions I make each month in my monthly newsletter
and CD that are sent free to members of the Matt Furey Inner Circle.
The September issue was already mailed - but there's still time for you to
get one. It contains a valuable secret on what meats to eat for strength,
stamina, power and lifelong leanness. Don't miss out on this special issue.

P.S. I may be having a belated wedding anniversary event tomorrow, so
stay tuned.
It's one thing to sit back and visualize.
It's quite another to be led, one thought at a time, one
breath at a time, by a MASTER who not only puts you
into a deep, DEEP state of relaxation; but through his
words helps you connect your internal Success Mechanism
to the invisible but all-powerful force of the Universe - the
very force that can help you achieve every goal you ardently
desire.
Now imagine that this Master has a library of 50 Amazing
Meditations & Visualizations - all of them designed to bring
out the BEST in YOU. All of them designed to help you create
greater health, wealth and peace of mind.
Now imagine that this very library of his is sent to you, month by
month, until the entire collection is yours as well.
THINK of that. Think of how much your life will have changed by
having these mega-powerful guided meditations and visualizations
not only in your library, but in your subconscious mind, where they
will do you the MOST good - literally catapulting you to success.
Want to know more?

How do you eliminate fear. I can tell you in one
paragraph - but you'll probably forget - so let me
tell you a story.
There was a teenage boy who began selling life
insurance with his mother several decades back.
He was told by his mother to go into a building
and try to sell a policy to every single person
he met.
He was scared to do so. But he learned early on
to follow instructions - and he did so.
The first day out in the field he made two sales.
The second day four. The third day - six.
As he improved he began to note what he did to
succeed and what he did when he failed. He realized
that when he was afraid he hesitated and didn't give
it everything he had.
So he set out to conquer his fear. At first he tried to conquer
his fear through THINKING alone. This helped some -
but not enough. He then realized that if he moved forward,
greeted a prospect, puffed out his chest, spoke loudly, smiled
and so on - that something mysterious happened to the fear.
It disappeared.
Where'd it go. Don't know. But it's gone.
At that moment the young boy understood that fear is not
always subject to reason - but it always subject to action.
This young boy went on to become a billionaire. He also lived
to age 100 in very good health. His name, W. Clement Stone.
Now this story can become YOUR story.
Think of something you're afraid to do when it comes to health
and fitness.
Perhaps you're afraid to lose weight or get fit. Your mind has
reasoned, erroneously, all sorts of stupid scenarios. And you're
trying to reason with your mind to rid yourself of the fear.
Dumb idea.
Instead of trying to out-wit your fear - get off your ass and
DO SOMETHING.
Lead with your chest. Breathe deeply. Walk fast. Begin
talking with enthusiasm. Tell yourself, out loud, 'Today I'm
going to get myself into better shape than I was in yesterday.'
Get into position and knock out a set of Hindu Squats.
Then do a set of Hindu Pushups.
Then do some bridging.
Then do the Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener.
Followed by the vaccuum.
Followed by the Power Wheel - http://www.mattfurey.com/powerwheel.html
Follow along with me on the Combat Conditioning DVDs each day, first thing -
http://www.mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html - and the death of fear
is certain.
Remember, there are no rewards in life when you sit on the sidelines paralyzed
with fear.
Your ticket out of the paralysis is simple. Stand up. Stand tall. Breathe deep
and MOVE.
Once you've done this you'll understand that the story of the teenage salesman
can be applied to any fear you have.
Lose your fear and get fit fast.
Kick butt - take names,
Matt Furey
P.S. One more time: The emotion of fear is not always subject to reason - but it
is ALWAYS subject to forward movement. I'm talking about moving your body
through space and time. Do it and you'll know that this is true.
Last week I contacted a couple Internet
technicians who've done work for me in the
past. I gave them my vision for a couple
more 'member's only' websites.
Yesterday I heard back from the most
technical of the two. In the title of his
email he used the word 'solution.'
Bad move.
Reluctantly I opened the email. Then I
read the first sentence. It said: Here's
the solution.
I immediately hit reply.
'Solutions is a problem solving word,' I
said. 'I'm not solving a problem here.'
To be fair, this 'geek-speak' is very common
in the computer industry. Even so, I avoid the
terms because creating something appeals to me
much more than finding a solution, solving a problem
or dealing with a 'situation or issue.'
I simply want to create the result I want - and that result
is independent of problems.
Why? Because those who focus on solving problems are usually
doomed to a never-ending battle with the same problem.
Problem solved. Problem returns. Problem solved. Problem
returns. And so on. The perfect illustrations of this scenario
are weight loss and weight gain.
Yet, what about transcending the problems you face by creating
what you want instead? Creating what you want can be independent
of problems and circumstances.
If you're overweight, instead of focusing on the 'problem' of your
weight - you focus instead on becoming vibrantly healthy while
attaining your ideal weight.
If your house burns down, for example, you wouldn't focus on turning
the burnt wood into useable wood. You'd toss the burnt wood aside,
get out a set of blueprints and - most likely choose to create a house
that was better than the previous one.
I know a man who lost his home in Hurricane Katrina last year. He showed
me the now vacant space where his home once stood. The hurricane didn't
leave a sliver of wood or a block of cement.
Yet, when he showed me the site he said, 'I have a builder making me
a new
home. I told him I want to CREATE a home that is hurricane-proof.'
When it comes to money, so many people are caught trying to solve a
problem
when they'd be better off leap-frogging the problem and creating the
abundance
they want, independent of their problems. When you do this you will
discover,
as I have personally, that the so-called financial problem disappears.
Back in 1996, when I first got started on the Internet, I did NOT do
so in order
to solve my financial woes. And I had a lot of them back then.
Instead, I got on the Internet and focused on using it to create an
empire.
Overtime my wife and I figured out the thoughts and actions that would
help us create the abundance we sought. We didn't figure it out
overnight,
but when we look back upon the speed at which 'time flys' - it sure
seems
like it happened overnight.
Perhaps the greatest joy of creating what you want is that you get to
live in
your 'right brain' most of the time. When you'e in your right brain
there's no
such thing as time; there's no such thing as competition; there's no
such thing
as not having or not being enough - and best of all, problems don't
matter.
The old song, 'Don't worry - be happy' is right.
You don't need to figure out how to stop worrying. You just need to
start living.
You don't need to stop worrying - if you will simply 'be happy' you
cannot and will
not worry.
Want to transcend your worries, your problems? Well, I'm sorry BUT
there is no
solution.
There are only shifts in orientation. The shift I champion is one
that asks you to
be creatively alive and involved in a project that you love.
What's your project? What's your goal for today? What do you want?
What do
you really, really want?
Answer these questions and you're further along the path to creating
something
you're proud of than the person who's fretting over his problems.
Best,
Matt Furey

When most people talk about goals they usually refer to their
one-year, 5-year and 10-year plans.
Nothing wrong with that.
However, in order to have a constant feeling of success coarsing
through your veins, I always advise having 'daily' goals to
accomplish.
By daily goals I do not mean your 'to do' list. Not at all. I mean
something you can do each day to be creatively alive; something
you can point to and say, 'Look what I accomplished today. Look
what I achieved. Look what I created.'
It might be a fitness goal. You make your goal of walking 5 miles.
It might be a writing goal. You start and finish that article you've
been thinking about.
It might be a painting; or the closing of a sale.
As a college wrestler I realized that when I went to practice with
a specific goal, I ruled the room. The same opponent in practice
whom I would struggle to beat would be mince-meat if I had a
goal to throw him, for example, 20 times. I proved this over
and over.
Your mind loves something to focus on; a target to hit.
And every day that you hit at least one target - that's a day in
which your confidence soars.
At the beginning of each day, ask yourself, 'What do I want to
create today. What goal do I want to accomplish today.'
Write down the answer - then get going.
Throw yourself into action and watch how the hours go by.
Why. Because you're creatively alive. And that's a good way
to live.
Best,
Matt Furey

Here's a great question from a Lieutenant Colonel in the
U.S. Army.
Matt,
I have your Combat Conditioning videos, Gama fitness, Combat
Abs, and now your Farmer Burns course and Combat Cardio Tele-
Seminar - http://www.mattfurey.com/products.html -
Let me just say as a member of the Armed Forces I believe your
teachings are fantastic. I've contacted the Army Fitness School
and told them to go to your website.
Anyways, here's my issue and question. I was in a fairly serious
motorcycle accident over here in Korea about a year ago. I took
some damage to my left leg, and although the bones have healed
and the stitches are long gone I still have some pain in my calve.
It is by no means debilitating, but it does hurt quite a bit when I run.
As a consequence I've cut back on my running and now walk every
night while only running 2-3 times a week (I also plan on using your
rope skipping, rowing, cycling programs from the tele-seminar).
In Combat Cardio you mentioned incorporating the Qi Gong breathing
into your own walking and the website had a picture of you doing it.
Can you offer some tips on incorporating the breathing into your walking.
I know it seems obvious; breathe deep (down to your feet) and exhale,
but do you breathe in for a specific count or number of steps and exhale
the same?
Do you shorten your walking stride to accomodate the breathing (I have
in my 'experimental' walks)? Any tips would be useful and me being the
pragmatist I am. I'm thinking this would be useful for soldiers conducting
road marches. Just a thought. Please provide any info you can and keep
up the great work!
LTC Van R. Sikorsky
ROK
M.F. Lieutenant Colonel, first thanks so much for the kind words - but more
importantly, thanks for your service to our country. Glad to hear you are
mending well after the accident. To strengthen you calves, you might consider
the wall chair position, albeit with heels elevated. This will make your calves
quiver and quake like the San Andreas fault.
In regard to Qi Gong walking (also Chi Kung walking) - there are
many varieties. Today I will give you one of many favorites.
I normally don't divulge something this good in my emails - it's the
sort of thing I reserve for students in the Matt Furey Inner Circle -
http://www.mattfurey.com/furey_inner_circle.html -
but today I'll make an exception for YOU!
While walking with normal strides, inhale from your feet up to your head. Pull the
energy up your body to energize. After doing this hold your breath and pull your
abs back toward your spine. Hold for a 2 count ... or whatever you're comfortable
doing. Continue on with your normal stride while walking this way. Exhale when
you cannot hold any longer. Catch your breath and repeat.
Believe me now and listen to me later, it won't take long for you to be swimming in
energy. This technique is very powerful indeed.
By the way, the benefits of being a Matt Furey Inner Circle member continue to
grow.
First, you get discounts on all of my products that no one else gets.
Second, you will be able to purchase products that NON-members will NOT
hear about.
Third, as of last night, we are adding "Underground Video" clips of me demonstrating
exercises no one has seen before - or exercises that many think they know just
from having my book or previous DVDs. Not so. This Fure-cat has many tricks up
his sleeve. And the first clip we put up of me doing Hindu Pushups will blow your
mind. Several details to this movement that I assure you NO ONE else is teaching
because they don't know them.
So make sure you become a member of the Matt Furey Inner Circle so you don't
miss out on these "Underground Video" clips. We will be adding more content in
video form each week. Go to http://www.mattfurey.com/furey_inner_circle.html

P.S. One more thing: When you ENROLL in the Matt Furey Inner Circle today,
you'll also receive 7 best-selling gifts from me absolutely gratis, including my
int'l headliner, Combat Conditioning.

Okay, onto todays' tip.]
Before taking my most recent trip to China, I grabbed a stockpile of
books to read. One of them, BLINK, was so good, I've been telling
people about it ever since.
Incidentally, the author, Malcolm Gladwell, is the same guy who wrote
THE TIPPING POINT - another national best-seller.
So this book, BLINK, confirmed some things that I have been telling
people for the past 10 years - and it opened my eyes on a number
of other issues.
One of the things it confirmed was how someone of a high skill level
in martial arts, music, painting, and so on, can look at someone or
something, and INSTANTLY assess the skill level or value. I have often
told people that I can look across the room, see two people practicing or
competing, and immediately know if they're the real deal or not.
How do I know this. I can't really explain. It's just a guttural instinct that
comes after three plus decades in the trenches.
I also loved the book because of how it revealed the power of face reading.
In Chinese this is called Xiang Mian. I've looked into it for over a decade
and find it to be most fascinating - as well as highly accurate.
One of the biggest 'a-ha's' I got from BLINK, however, was how they have
scientifically proven that those who take a long time to make a decision,
usually make a WORSE decision than if they go with the gut feeling they
have from the get-go.
I know this rings true in my case. When I make my decisions quickly, I'm
almost always right, just as written about in BLINK. When I hem and haw
and think, think, think - I'm not really thinking at all. I'm preparing myself
for what will probably be a dumb decision.
The message is clear: Learn to trust your internal instincts. Learn to believe in that
initial gut reaction or feeling you have about something. Chances are better than not
that what you think in a BLINK will be the right answer.
Best,
Matt Furey
P.S. Only 3 slots left in my October seminar. Learn what I know about doing
real business online and your life may take off like a rocket. I'm betting it will.
Go to http://www.knockoutmarketing.com and enroll NOW.
Think of all the things you do today that are
nothing more than habits.
Good or bad - you formed them through repetition
of thought - and repetition of deed.
The truth about the formation of habits is that they
start out as ideas - then you act upon them. And if
you act upon them everyday for 28 days - sometimes
less, the habit is locked in. Virtue or vice - the habit
has YOU - you don't have it.
The above is often more true of bad habits than good.
Bad habits are easy to form and hard to break. Good
habits on the other hand, take a little more guts to
form - but once again, when they're locked in you've
got something that is an automatic reflex.
Until ... you start hanging around with people who don't
have good habits - or you go on vacation - or you get sick
for a spell - and so on.
Bad habits are easy to keep because there are so many
people around you who have the same bad habits.
When it comes to good habits though, oftentimes you have
to search for others who can reinforce the good you're doing.
But even if you don't find many others who share your good habits
for exercise, proper nutrition, a positive mental attitude and
so on - this is not a problem so long as you stay focused through
constant reading, listening to audio programs, going to seminars,
etc.
I suggest you form one new positive habit at a time. Spend at least
28 straight days 'hooking' yourself on this good habit. Then, once
it 'has you' - think about adding something else that is good.
One of the great things about the Royal Court from Combat Conditioning
is that the exercise habit grabs you from the inside out. You can be done
with a bodyfat reducing, muscle-building workout in 15 minutes - 30 if you're
hard core. You feel so good doing these exercises that you want to do them
more often. They become a good habit quickly - and they give you the internal
strength to drop negative, destructive habits.
So make sure you do your Hindu Squats, Hindu Pushups and bridging today -
http://www.mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html - as well as the Magnificent
7 from Combat Abs - http://www.mattfurey.com/combat_abs.html
These workouts constitute the very best habit-forming exercises on the planet.
Kick butt - take names,
Matt Furey
P.S. If you really want to reinforce the positive habit of exercise - be sure to
join the Matt Furey Inner Circle - where you're surrounded by the people and
information that will continually help you take charge of your life. You can read
all about it at http://www.mattfurey.com/furey_inner_circle.html

It's a sad reality - but many women don't know how
easily they can fend off a rapist or street punk. Women,
like men, have all the physical tools to drop a punk to
his knees, begging for mercy. Unfortunately, most women
have been repeatedly told that they "can't." They've been
told that men are stronger, bigger, faster, smarter and so
on.
Well the truth is this: Even if a man is bigger and stronger,
that doesn't mean you don't have the tools to knock him on
his keister. It's simply a matter of knowing how to use your
body in a certain way.
A raccoon, for example, is only about 20 pounds - yet it'll rip
right through any "strongman" alive today. Keep this metaphor
in mind. Teach a woman to fight with the spirit of a raccoon and
no one can defeat her.
I recently read about a lady who fended off a guy who
was at least 3x stronger than her. Made my day to read
this.
Naturally, being the inquisitive type, I wanted to know
"why" and "how" she was able to do so. When I looked
at the program she learned from, I smiled and nodded.
When you read all about it I think you'll see what I mean
as well.

When someone is resistant to a new idea, one of the things
he will do to stall, procrastinate and delay is ask the question
'why.'
I know this tactic very well .. and so does my wife.
We went through the 'why' stage when we were
learning each other's language.
When I was learning Chinese, instead of simply
absorbing the material like a child would, I wanted
to know 'why.'
Why does the person's name have to come first, followed
by the time, followed by the verb, and so on.
'Wo mingtian chi fan tai duo.' Translated literally, I yesterday
eat too much.
I'd much rather say it my way, 'Wo chi fan tai duo mingtian.'
I ate too much yesterday.
Zhannie went through the same, only in reverse. 'Why do I
have to put an 's' on the end of some nouns but not on others?
Why not just put the number before the noun so we know how
many of something? Isn't saying five car the same as saying
five car(s)?'
When you think about it, we don't need the doggone 's' at the end
to understand. But we insist on it in English. Why. Who the hell
cares. Just the way it BE (yes, twas an intentional Furey mistake).
We accept it and move on.
Whenever something is NEW, many people literally demand to know
'why, why, why.' Yet, deep down, they really don't want to change.
Here are some examples sent to me by email: Why are bodyweight
exercises better than weights. Why does excess fat on your waistline
disappear with Combat Abs. Why does back pain go away with bridging.
Why does your metabolism crank up the heat so much more when
you train this way instead of with weights or aerobics.
Why are pushups safer shoulders than the bench press. Aren't they
really the same thing.
And so on.
Often, trying to explain 'why' is futile because the person asking
'why' doesn't really want to know the answer. He simply wants to
argue and hold onto a current belief.
And so, the only real way for someone to be convinced of the validity of
Combat Conditioning - http://www.mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html -
or Combat Abs - http://www.mattfurey.com/combat_abs.html - is to get
the programs, use them and discover the truth for yourself.
Even though that is the real truth, I'd like to give you a few reasons why
the exercises work so well and so fast anyway - so here goes:
5 Reasons Why Bodyweight Exercises Work Like Magic
1. When you do Hindu Squats and Hindu Pushups, or variations of them,
you are working major muscle groups. Most people who train with weights
do isolation exercises. The person who works major muscle groups beats the
isolation exercise dodo 16 ways from Sunday.
2. Because bodyweight exercises are 'natural' movements that require deeper
self-concentration, neurological connections are stronger than they are when
your focus is on something other than yourself, i.e. 'weights.'
3. Bodyweight exercises allow you to train your body from virtually any angle
or position. The same cannot be said of weights, especially all those ridiculous
machines.
4. Bodyweight exercises simultaneously increase strength, endurance and
flexibility. Hindu Pushups and bridging are a textbook perfect example of this.
5. Bodyweight exercises attack the muscle at a deeper level than weights, thereby
giving you greater 'functional strength.' The person who does a set of pullups, for
example, works the muscles of the back and arms far more than the person doing
a lat pulldown on a machine.
There are more reasons 'why' - but again, none of these reasons mean a doggone
thing if a person is resistant to the idea.
It is not my job to pound through the mental and emotional debris that stops someone from making the decision to go ahead. All I can do is present my
point of view and move on.
On second thought, tis probably a good idea to end today's message with a
hearty 'thank you' to all the Furey Faithful, who now occupy some 139
countries - we just added 'Ghana' to the list - and have been kicking butt and
taking names with my superior programs.

Caused quite a stir with my email yesterday about
corn - and where you can stick it.
Although I didn't render an opinion on WHAT healthy
cows should eat - some felt I was advocating cows be
fed a grain-based diet.
No, the Fure-cat didn't say that. I meant to say that feeding cows
grain is how farmers fatten them - and the same thing happens
to a LOT of human beings who are grain fed. They get F-A-T.
Yesterday I was in a green tea shop in Orlando. The women who work
the counters were wonderful, sweet human beings; always of great
service. They even put of with ME and my deliberate attempts to
unsettle their stomachs.
In addition to green tea they also serve vegetarian foods, which I took
a serious look at as sometimes the dishes are quite good. But not in this
case because all their dishes were grainy.
The salad they had would be okay - minus the tofu. But the other dishes:
noodles with tofu, rice with veggies and tofu, pesto with tofu - and so on -
are toxic to the system.
Grass-fed beef, however, is not toxic to our bodies, especially when you
eat it bloody and throw the bread, potatoes, corn and rice in the dumpster
where they belong.
I told the girls I was going out hunting today; out to bag an elk and a deer.
Although I was speaking in jest, as I've never hunted a day in my life, what
I said went over about as well as a fart in church. They got a bit upset at
me and said, "That kind of food is not good for you."
I kept mum. Thought about flexing a few muscles - maybe even squashing
a few cubes of tofu to prove otherwise. But what would it accomplish? Nuttin.
These girls, I should point out, are in their early 20's - and they're already showing
the deleterious effects of a grain-based diet, especially one with soy - a major
no-no. Big butts that are getting bigger. Acne. Low energy. Pasty face.
If they followed the Furey Fat Loss System I'm betting the extra 'tonage" would
disappear, along with the zits and pale complexion - but it's none of my business
what they eat. I only go there for green tea and an atmosphere of bedlam.
By the way, if you want to know more about the Furey Fat Loss System, I'll be
happy to send it to you for no charge when you're a member of the Matt Furey

Fair enough?
Kick butt - take names,
Matt Furey - aka "The Peaceful Meat Eater"
Three years ago I began to spill the beans on how fat
the Chinese are getting. No one would believe me.
Now the word is spreading and others are chiming in.
Yesterday, Al Sears, M.D., noted in his health segment for
EarlytoRise.com that 20% of the Chinese population is now
overweight.
Think, my friend, that's an awful lot of people.
Now, there will be some who will blame Mickey D's and Kay
Ef Cee for the increased weight in China. Yet, these companies are
only part of a major movement in China - a movement AWAY from eating
foods that are natural and unprocessed.
Others will blame the increased girth on the amount of meat the
Chinese consume. Yet, the Chinese and meat have long been
friends. Tis nothing new. They eat a ton of meat and always
have. Very few vegetarians in China.
Based on what I can readily observe in my twice-per-year voyages to
China - these are the reasons for overweight in China.
1. Increased prosperity - with more moolah, the people can afford to eat
foods in amounts they wouldn't have entertained before.
2. Decreased activity due to increased use of cars and motorcycles.
3. Increased consumption of milk, yogurt, ice cream and other dairy
products they
didn't used to eat.
4. Greatly increased consumption of processed, devitalized, unnatural
foods,
i.e. desserts like pies, cakes, cookies, chips and candy.
5. Increased consumption of soda pop, coffee - less consumption of green
tea.
6. Sugar consumption is huge. Even when I order a vegetable or fruit
juice
drink I MUST give directions NOT to add sugar. Imagine that. Adding
sugar
to a fruit drink. Unreal.
In spite of this downward trend, there are still a great many Chinese
who
are following the traditions that have given them superior health.
And those
Chinese are the ones I learn from.
One of them is a 90-year old lady, who I often practice the Chinese
Long-Life
System with. She can run like the wind. She's strong, flexible and
mentally alert.
And if you pass candy before her eyes she says no.
You can see me training with her at http://
www.chineseculturesecrets.com/long_life.html
All for now.
Kick butt - take names,
Matt Furey
I'll never forget the day the 68-year old
man I was training came into the gym and
said, 'You know something, I haven't been
able to get it up for five years. But after two
weeks of training with you, I'm driving my
wife wild again.'
Gotta love hearing stories like that. Moreover,
that story was told to me back in the old days,
when I was teaching weights and cardio.
All I can say is that the exercises I teach in
Combat Conditioning and Combat Abs go waaay
beyond weights and cardio when it comes to sex
drive.
For example, the Hindu Pushup doesn't just build
your upper body. It has been known for thousands
of years to help increase blood flow to all the sexual
organs. The mere arching of the spine and thrusting of
the pelvis in this exercise helps both men and women
increase sensitivity and power in this area.
The bridge is HUGE for increasing sex drive, too. Just
look at the mechanics of it. You have to arch your back,
lift your buttocks in the air and hold.
Reminds me of a funny and true story. Had a couple from
Canada who bought my Combat Conditioning book and DVDs,
as well as a t-shirt. The t-shirt has an illustration of me doing
a bridge. As can be imagined, the woman's eyes were drawn
to my nether region - and she determined from this drawing
that I must have an erection. This was unacceptable to her,
so she took a black magic marker and colored me in.
Truth is I didn't have an erection in the pictures taken for the
book, but perhaps that's a good idea for an un-abridged addition.
Okay, back on track here. Hu-hummm. Too funny.
In Combat Abs - the first two exercises, the Farmer Burns Stomach
Flattener and the Vacuum - are deep breathing exercises that
not only help burn unwanted flab from your waistline, but they
increase strength in the internal organs - and yes, that includes
the sexual organs.
Not only that, but many women who've hit the age of 40 and up
and have battled urinary incontinence - have found these exercises
to fix that problem within days.
The Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener and vacuum also improve
digestion in a big way. Adam, a Matt Furey Inner Circle
Member for many years now, wrote me back in 2001 to say that
he thought I was going overboard when I stated that these exercises
will improve digestion. But after doing them for a couple days he
KNEW this to be the case.
You can learn all the exercises I mentioned for next to nothing.
By becoming a member of the Matt Furey Inner Circle, you get
Combat Conditioning and Combat Abs gratis - along with five other
gifts - and you get access to our Member's Only Discussion board,
where you can ask as many questions as you'd like for an entire

'A life spent in making mistakes is not only
more honorable but more useful than a life
spent doing nothing.' - George Bernard Shaw
I think Dr. Maltz and Mr. Shaw must have been
reading and/or writing from the same page, hence
the Maltz phrase ...
'Mistake maker - mistake breaker.'
In order to grow as a person, you must be open to
and willing to make mistakes. And if you're not willing
to do so, you cannot improve and grow. It's impossible.
Yet, I often find people with 10,000 questions, 10,000
worries, 10,000 fears about 'what to do and when.'
'Who Will Do What By When' - now that's the title of a
great book that I encourage you to read.
Tis far better than 'Who Will Worry About What for
How Long.'
Perfectionism is a deadly disease. I have people who
attend my seminars on Internet Marketing, and they
approach the new business with nothing but fear, worry
and self-doubt. The prevailing attitude is, 'What if I do
something and it doesn't work.'
Well, the answer is 'Hurrah.' Put your arms up in the air
and congratulate yourself for at least doing something. Now
you know what doesn't work - and you're one move closer
to finding what DOES work. My very first idea didn't make me
a fortune. I made many mistakes early on. Yet, today most of
what I touch turns to gold. How can that be? It's because my
mistakes guided me toward doing the right thing more
often.
My son came home from school yesterday and was upset
because he got a "yellow" warning. I asked him what caused
him to get the yellow. After he told me this I reminded him
that most of the time he gets a "green" - the best mark for
the day.
"What are you doing on the days you get green?" I asked.
After he told me I said, "Okay, focus on getting green more
often and do the things you normally do when you get green."
He immediately calmed down.
When it comes to the Internet, you've got to remember that
it is a very forgiving place. I make mistakes on this
cyber-highway. But I keep driving. I don't stop and
fret about my mistakes. I learn from them and move on.
The same approach is how you learn to get good at anything.
Take the Olympic figure skaters. They fall down hundreds of
times in each practice. And, quite often they fall in competition.
Yet they get back up and go at it again. They conquer the ice
by having a willingness to risk falling on it. Without risk they
would have nothing.
And so it is with YOU, my friend. Want to get more results out
of life - then do what a wise businessman said long ago ...
'Double Your Failure Rate.'
This does not mean that you deliberately try to fail or make
mistakes. It means that you understand the more things
you try, the more mistakes you'll make - and the faster you'll
get yourself onto the fast track to success.
Best,
Matt Furey

Suppose you were to ACT as if it were impossible to fail. How do you
think your life would change if you did?
Suppose you got an idea, and, instead of sitting around mulling it over,
you immediately jumped into action. How would this change your life?
Suppose you looked in the mirror each day and told yourself you were put
on this earth to succeed, not to fail. How would this change the way
you feel throughout the day? How would it change your results?
And let's say, just for fun, you thought about all the things you have to be
grateful for each day. Let's say you took some time to recall a string of
successful experiences. What do you think would happen if you did?
I'm betting your life would change for the positive in a big, BIG way. Now
you're left with one question to ask yourself - 'Do you want to experience
a BIG, POSITIVE change in your life?

'Don't get too thin.'
That was the advice the wife of a Matt Furey Inner Circle
member gave her husband recently. On our private member's
only discussion board he told us that he chose to ignore this
comment.
Good idea.
The man's goal is to be back in fighting trim. An honorable puruit.
So what's going on with the wife?
Well, tis a very common thing that wives say to husbands -
and husbands to their wives. It's not meant to be hurtful or
harmful (at least not in this case).
What is really going on is this: The man is changing. He's
changing right before her eyes. And many people are
frightened by change. They see it as a negative instead of
a positive. And the reason they see it as a negative is because,
with the 'familiar' they know what to expect.
But with change? - oh no - something ELSE might happen.
Hot chicks might start to notice you more. They might
even begin to desire you. Then again, when you're really fit,
maybe you'll start looking at HER (your wife) in a different light.
Maybe you'll demand that she change. Maybe you'll start
wanting an even fitter wife. And so on.
Yes, men have different ways of trying to strap limitations
on their wives, too. My advice in either scenario is 'mind your
own business.'
My wife works out regularly. I don't tell her what to do. Don't offer
her a word of advice, unless she asks - and she rarely does. So
I keep my trap shut. Funny, huh? She has free access to the fitness
guru - but she'd rather be independent - and I admire that. Doesn't
hurt my feelings in the least as I understand the dynamics of the
relationship. Most conversations are improved by 'minding your own
business.'
What about my wife? Does she tell me how to train?
No.
Does she worry if I'm making a change for the better? No.
And that's a good thing.
If you have a wife or husband who tends to offer unsolicited fitness
advice - or who makes comments that are inappropriate, you have
my permission to say 'mind your own business.' It might rattle their
cage a bit - but so what?
Better to be outside the cage rattling it - than inside the cage wishing
you could.
Another Fureyism you can take to the bank.

Think about this for a moment. How many ways can you come up with
to 'see yourself.' Let's try for 108.
Can you make yourself bigger, taller, smaller, lighter. Can you make
yourself heavier, softer, harder or more relaxed.
Can you make yourself smile, frown, laugh, cry.
Can you see yourself as a success in business; in relationships;
in school; as a speaker, writer, teacher, coach or mentor.
Can you see yourself traveling the world, living here and abroad.
Can you see yourself as young, vibrant and healthy, regardless of
your age.
The better you are at seeing yourself in different ways, the easier
it will be to 'zero in' on the way you really want to be.
Just remember to be willing to do whatever it takes to make things
happen in your life. Get the vision - then make it a reality.
The course that shows you how to do this in magnificent fashion is
Dr. Maltz' Zero Resistance Living. I encourage you to give it a whirl

Yesterday I was watching yet another Animal
Planet tribute to Steve Irwin - aka 'The Crocodile
Hunter.'
My son watched with me and when he saw something
heroic, which was about every four minutes, he looked at
me and says, 'I'm Steve.'
My goodness. You mean you're not Darth Vader
anymore? Or Spiderman? Sponge Bob? And so
on. Now you're going to be a real human? Oh,
boy.
Anyway, 'The Crocodile Hunter' was teasing an
alligator while explaining how they attack. At first
Steve stays back a bit, then he gets a bit cocky
and puts his hands in the water. Being this wasn't
crazy enough, he put his bare hand (minus any
food) out for the gator.
Then, after a few minutes of toying, the gator
caught Irwin's hand between his jaws. As if nothing
had happened, Irwin stayed relaxed. When the
gator pulled away from the bank, Steve moved along
with him. An instant later the gator released Irwin's
hand.
Irwin then turned to the camera, with his bloody hand,
and began explaining why the gator let go of his hand.
It was simple - He didn't react in a fearful way. He didn't
pull back. He went with the bite - and therefore the gator,
not sensing a battle, let go.
What Irwin explained is a simple martial arts principle -
as well as an important law of the Universe. When you
react in a fearful manner, you provoke fear in others.
When you react by staying relaxed - even smiling - others
don't know what to do next. And most of the time the fight
ends. You need two to tango - as the saying goes.
When it comes to your health - think of yourself as two
people, often in combat with one another. You have your
body - then you have someone inside your body who
looks you over and puts you down, tells you you're too
fat, too thin, too ugly, too weak and so on.
Yet, the key to changing your direction is NOT self-criticism.
It is not stressing out about how you look and feel.
The key to improving your body is accepting the condition you're
in right now. Not 'liking' it. Merely accepting where you are now -
letting it be okay - but also having a desire to change, and to act
upon that desire.
When the gator got Irwin's hand, he accepted it as a reality, he
stayed calm and got free. He got free without a fight.
Think of that, my friend. You can get free from the extra flab and
weakness that you may feel imprisoned by. You can break free
by accepting where you are instead of denying it. You can break
free by accepting your condition - and while doing so, allowing
positive changes to flow into your life.
It just so happens that my program is your key to you escaping from
the gator's clench.
Come fly with me - above the problems you may be having. Come
fly with me and create the body of your dreams.

Imagine what life would be like if you NEVER got tired;
never felt fatigue.
Why ... you'd be able to run circles around your current
self, wouldn't you?
Well, there are fundamental skills people with high levels
of endurance possess that others don't know about.
High-endurance men and women move differently, breathe
differently and think differently. And once you know what
they do and most importantly HOW they do it - all you have
to do is follow their lead and you'll get the same results.
To find out how one former college and pro football player
went from 40 lbs. overweight and a life of sitting in front of
a computer like a bump on a log to becoming an endurance
super-star who stripped all the excess flab off his body in

P.S.You might think you already have enough endurance. Well, how
would you know if you haven't used this course to triple it? Check it
out at http://www.mattfurey.com/super_endurance.html - And please,
don't be one of those losers who say idiotic stuff like, 'I don't want to
have endurance.' Afraid of feeling tooooo good, are you? I certainly
hope not.
Words like failure, mistake, heartache, screw-up,
loss, divorce, bankruptcy and so on cut right into the
marrow of peoples' bones.
All of us have at least one or two really BIG setbacks,
perhaps even one or more that are still being carried
around.
Let me assure you, carrying previous mistakes around
with you is not the way to live. You probably already know
that - but do you really KNOW it. By that I mean, do you
LIVE it.
Many years ago, when I was a competitive wrestler in
high school and college, whenever I lost, I was crushed.
I would carry the experience with me for days. On some
occasions, a really big loss was something that hurt for
years. The mere mention of the incident would cause me
to shake and shiver.
Naturally I carried this same sort of 'I shouldn't make
mistakes or lose at any time' attitude with me into
business. And let me tell you, I was even harder on myself
in this situation than I was in sports.
I remember one time when I was in the personal training
business full time, I took on an employee who ultimately
ripped me off when I was out of town, opened his own
location and went into competition with me ... after I had
trained him, helped him build his confidence, showed him
a system and so on.
I was devastated. And I carried the anger I felt toward
this person with me for years.
In some ways you could say I used the anger to leap frog
the guy, afterall, 'Success is the greatest revenge.'
But even when I had reached a level of success that was
light years ahead of the guy, I was still angry. And that
anger was definitely not contributing to my growth in
any way.
Dr. Maltz always says, 'You may be a mistake-maker, but
you're also a mistake breaker.' He also says that you need
to forgive yourself for past mistakes. And you need to forgive
others.
Forgiving others does not mean that you let them into the door
of your home after they've robbed you and beaten you. Not at
all. It simply means you let go of the negative in your mind, see
the event for what it was and move on. Don't let the negative vibes
of the situation continue to drain YOU of energy.
Had a client back in the old days who was familiar with the situation
of me getting ripped off. He said to me one day, 'You've got to let
that go, otherwise his (the guy who wronged me) ghost is hovering
over you, laughing at you.'
How true.
Now, you can argue that the times I was angry with myself for losing
an important wrestling match served me well, afterall, one coach told
me, 'Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser.'
In a sense, it is natural to be upset with yourself after a loss - but the
key to your success is the speed at which you transform the anger or
hurt into a learning experience. When I was harboring a ton of anger
about losing, my workouts weren't as good. I couldn't focus because
my mind wasn't relaxed. And I didn't stop making mistakes simply
because I was angry about a previous one.
You may be a mistake maker, but you're also a mistake breaker.
In business today, when I make a mistake, I get over it incredibly fast.
I adjust so fast it is scary sometimes - and as a result I am MUCH MORE
effective at moving forward than when I would harbor anger and resentment
for days, weeks - or years.
Every day is a new day, an opportunity for growth. Instead of focusing on
past mistakes, heartaches and failures - focus your mind on the good times,
the times in which everything flowed smoothly. See yourself at your best.
See yourself with kind eyes.
Be the BIG SELF that resides within you. Overcome your obstacles. Rise
above them. View them as challenges rather than problems.
And when something doesn't work out the way you thought it would, remember
that you can change. You are a mistake maker. All of us are. But, if you choose,
you can also be a mistake breaker.
Need some help creating a lasting image of your BIG SELF. Then be sure to get
the Zero Resistance Living couse. It's loaded with exercises and drills that will
give you the power to live at your best, to live with zero resistance. To get the

Tuned in to the idiot box for the first time in
over a week.
I see on the schnews that spinach is now a
no-no. 20 people experiencing kidney
failure from e coli in the bagged veggies.
I guess this puts spinach, at least temporarily,
in the same bag as Mad Cow Disease. Uggh.
On the positive side of things, the stuff discussed
at Furey Central, members of my Inner Circle are
shredding weight fast by following a combination of
my exercises as well as the fat blasting program I
teach.
One member, who has dropped 8 pounds in 2 weeks
recently asked if he was doing okay.
Another member has shed 30 lbs.
Members who are always concerned about their blood sugar
due to having diabetes, are amazed that my recommendations
do NOT shoot their levels to the moon. In fact, many are
writing in to state how shocked they are to find their blood
sugar levels going down.

What Would Happen If ... you took a few minutes each day to
imagine the type of person you want to be.
What would happen if you thought about the most successful
people you know, and you said you would 'mentally pretend'
to be like them for a few minutes each day.
What would happen if you set just one important goal for yourself
and you made sure you focused on it each day.
What would happen if you made a vow to imagine the new YOU
and do whatever it takes until it becomes a reality.
Well, I know what would happen. You'd become a very different
person that you are today - and most important of all, you'd really
like that person.
Yes, focusing on what you want in the Theatre of the Mind - makes a
profound difference in your life.

P.S. Another great way to shoot up the ladder of success is by learning
what other successful people do to thrive in business rather than survive.
You can see how I do it by going taking a peak at what I'm teaching at my
October seminar - The Science of Super-Human Marketing. This WILL be and
IS the MOST important seminar I have ever taught. I will be revealing the
most powerful marketing strategies I know - and the good news is that ALL
of the are SUPER-HUMAN - meaning they are personal, powerful and
professional. These strategies are light years ahead of what everyone else i
doing to eke out a living. What would happen if you entertained the idea of
using them - go to http://www.knockoutmarketing.com and see what I

Got another call today from a friend - giving me
an update on his weight loss.
Five weeks ago I put him on my revised
Furey Fat Loss Program - the one that members
of the Matt Furey Inner Circle will receive by mail.
He's absolutely ecstatic.
30 lbs. have flown off his body. He has more
energy than ever before. And he's been able
to cut his diabetes medication down by a third.
He's never been on a regime that was so easy
and effortless to follow - one in which he never
feels deprived. In fact, he says he's stuffing himself
and the weight is still flying off.
Sounds like a winner to me.
On top of what I've mentioned, the man is 53 years
young - not exactly the age in which your metabolism
is a bullet train.
Now, being that my friend is the ONLY person in the U.S.
with a weight problem, I'm sure this message doesn't
apply to anyone else, hehe. But just in case it does -
could you send the big fella my way.
Send him or her to http://www.mattfurey.com/furey_inner_circle.html
for an annual membership in the MFIC.
Or direct this person to http://www.mattfurey.com/fg324trfsr3ttai.html
so he can test out the program for a month.

No, I'm not kidding. The title of this email
represents all but one word of a Chinese
saying.
Go ahead and take a guess at what the last
word of the saying is.
If you're like most, you'll probably guess the
last word is "rich" or "wealthy" - or a similar
term.
Yet, it's not.
The final word is - pros-tit-ute. So the complete
saying is: Laugh at the poor; don't laugh at the
prostitute.
A horrible saying, if you ask me - unless of course
you have it culturally translated.
In China, no one really laughs at the poor. No one
with any sense of compassion. Yet, on the other hand,
they don't believe in condemning prostitutes because,
even though it's no exactly the most honorable profession -
in many cases, the girls involved are doing so to help their
poor families back in the village they came from.
Over 700 million Chinese are in the peasant class. They
struggle for the things we take for granted. And they have
very little opportunity for advancement. Many times, right
or wrong, the young girls view the selling of their own
bodies as a way to provide for their mother, father and
siblings.
So to laugh at the prostitute is to laugh at someone who is
working hard to help her family.
There is more to the story - but for today this will suffice.
It goes to show, though, that we may not be wise to judge
the entire world based upon the standards we are currently
living in. Some people do have it much rougher than we do.
Best,
Matt Furey
P.S. Be sure to take a look at my Chuang Shang de Gong fu
course - wherein China's Secret Seksual Kung Fu system is

If you want to pack on a ton of weight
really fast, drink a lot of milk. And eat a
lot of starches.
That's what I advise those who are desperate
to gain weight - and there are damn few of them
running around in our country these days. Yet, a
gallon of milk a day will quickly add 20-30 lbs. to
a skinny man's frame, especially if he's doing Hindu
squats and focusing on breathing deeply.
On the other hand, if you're like most people these
days and you want to lose weight - I would tell you to
eliminate the milk. Not only does it fatten you - but today's
milk is worse for your body, health wise, than ever before
due to the purveyor's of the product adding growth hormone,
etc. to it.
Reminds me of a funny story. Twas in the bar with several
friends and clients some months back. One of the guys in
our group ordered a glass of milk.
"Is there anything else you'd like?" the waitress asked.
"Yes, I'd like a glass of water."
"Sparkling or straight?" she asked.
"Straight," he said. 'Straight from the tap."
I was aghast.
"Dumb-dum - you ordered your water from the tap?" I questioned.
"What's wrong with that," he replied - and meant it.
In yesterday's edition of the Sun - a U.K. based paper, there was an
article about overweight pregnant women in the U.K. - and how this
is a problem.
At first you might think, "What problem? Pregnant women
are supposed to gain weight."
That they are. But these women are obese when they
conceive - which means that by the time they give
birth - they're gargantuan. And this, many fear, leads
to the child being genetically predisposed to being a
lardassian. Makes sense to me.
Especially if the mother puts the baby on formula instead
of breast feeding. Then, after the baby no longer needs
suckling, if she puts her on milk - oh boy, the kid
has a greatly reduced chance of never being a truly healthy,
fit, lean machine - yet it is still possible if the kid learns how to
follows Nature's Laws.
In China, the population is getting fatter and fatter by the
year. Every time I go back I am amazed at how much
fatter the people are getting. It's in part because of Mickey
D's and Kay Ef Cee as well as other fast foods - but it's also
due to a plethora of snacks - and milk and yogurt.
Many Chinese never drank milk their whole lives. And they're
still lean, even in their 60's and beyond. But those who are suckling
milk from a glass or carton of kefir/yogurt are getting huge.
Here's my take on the matter: There is no animal in nature
that sucks the bosom of another animal for sustenance.
Lions don't drink from a goat's teat - or a cow's. Gorillas
don't go to a zebra for milk.
All animals, except man, understand that you get your milk
from your own species. To get your milk from your own mother
is to follow Nature's Laws. To drink milk from a goat or cow is
NOT.
The big fear of people NOT drinking milk is that of osteoporosis.
All I can say is milk hasn't shown itself to help in treating that
problem in the least.
Four years ago, when I was in Las Vegas for a seminar, a hefty lady
asked me if I'd have lunch with her. This was code for 'I'd like to
pitch you my marketing program - or I want to suck as much free
information from you as I can.'
Reluctantly, I agreed to the lunch. As you can imagine, this was Vegas,
and the buffet was set.
I ate my meat and veggies.
She filled her plate with starchy carbs - rice, beans, corn, wheat - with
a mixture of veggies with tofu for good measure. An absolute sham of
a diet for someone trying to lose weight.
To top it off, she ordered a LARGE glass of milk. And when she finished,
she ordered another. "Got to make sure I get plenty of milk for my bones.
Keep my hips strong," she said.
I munched on my steak, raised my eyebrows and said, "Oh yeah" - as if
she was teaching me something. So polite, I am - at times.
Yet all I could think was: Lady, if you're concerned about your hips,
strip some of that weight off. You're carrying at least 100 pounds of excess
blubber. What's worse for your hips, 100 extra pounds or NOT having another
glass of milk."
Ugggh.

recommendations that'll help you get into the best shape of your life. You'll receive

Life is a series of peaks and valleys. And sometimes the
valleys feel mighty low. They pale in comparison to our
best moments.
It is easy to begin feeling low if we enter a slump. If you're
used to making a certain income, then suddenly sales are
slow - the first thing we reach for are the reasons why this
is so.
It's tax time.
It's the economy.
It's the immigrants.
It's the price of gas.
And so on.
Yet, all of the above are NOT the reason for a slump because
there are others going through the same conditions who are
producing great results.
Now, there are and will always be 'contributing factors' to a slump -
but the biggest factors for the slump are as follows:
a. Unwillingness to change, experiment, try new ways of doing the
same thing - but get better results
b. Too much time telling 'your story' of why things aren't going well
instead of getting off your rumpus and doing something to shake
things up.
If you start paying attention, you'll be amazed at how much time and
energy people invest in telling their negative 'woe is me' story. During
the same amount of time the person spends telling and retelling his
story - he could be doing something to make things better - but that
would mean that the story is no longer true - so it's better to keep
on talking.
But it's not.
When times are tough, when you're in a slump - you break out of it
by imagining the circumstances you want - then DOING whatever it
takes to create those circumstances. The only talking you do during
this time is positive self-suggestion. You can start with a phrase like,
'Tough times never last - tough people do - and I'm tough as nails.'
Or you can say to yourself, 'I feel like I'm in a rut right now - but
I CAN do something about it. And I'm GOING to do something about it.
I am bigger than this problem and I'm rising above it.'
Repeat these thoughts to yourself with enthusiasm - and watch how
things start to open up for you.

Yesterday I got a love letter from someone
who took major umbrage about me saying that
eating meat is good for you.
Because I think this, I'm basically, in his
world view, out to destroy the planet - as
if that can be done. The dinosaurs couldn't
even accomplish that feat and they were a
lot bigger than human beings.
The man stated in his letter, "Some of the
best long distance athletes in history have
been vegetarians. So have many of the
smartest people in history."
There's more - which I'll save for a future
email. For now, let me say that I have
nothing against vegetarians. I was one
myself from 1987 thru 1994. Then I saw
the lights ... on the grill. And I've never
looked back.
So "some" great long distance runners
have been vegetarians. So what?
Most great long distance runners were not.
Tis like saying Bill Walton and Robert Parrish
were vegetarians who played in the NBA.
Well, yes they did - but what about the rest
of the NBA? Neither of these great players
was as good as Michael Jordan.
Many of the world's greatest thinkers were
vegetarian?
Again, SO WHAT?
The grand majority of great thinkers were NOT. Additionally,
we always have Adolph Hitler, to remind us that eating tofu
and broccoli does not a peaceful man maketh. Remember that.
There are peaceful, good natured vegetarians. Same
goes for meat eaters - like the late great Buckminster
Fuller. And there are violent ones on both sides of
the pasture as well.
But the real killers of the human spirit and flesh are
not meats. The killers are technological foods; foods
that were manufactured; foods that have to be cooked
to be edible. Packaged foods, laced with sugars, partially
hydrogenated oils, and so on - they are the killers.
Meat - believe it or don't - can be eaten raw without
getting sick. I don't do so myself, but know a number
of people who do - and there are books written on this
very subject.
Man, when subjected to a diet of meat, fruits and veggies -
minus the starches, the tofu and a plethora of other unhealthy
techno foods - is stronger, physically and mentally. His mind is
sharper. His reflexes faster. And his primal instinct for survival
heightened.
The key is knowing what meats to eat - and when. The key is
knowing what NOT to eat. And so on.
Get angry with me all you want. But listen, I'm NOT out to change
anyone's mind. If you're a vegetarian, I love ya all the same. I could
sit at a table and watch you eat your salad and never have a
negative word to say to you. On the contrary, how many vegetarians
can watch me wolf down a hunk of buffalo without getting enraged?
Most can. Then there are those who, as my friend says, "Get violent."
Always remember that when you combine the exercises I teach in
Combat Conditioning with all the updates I give to members of the
Matt Furey Inner Circle, that there is a good chance that miracles
may begin to happen in your life. By miracles I mean "stubborn fat"
leaving; cholesterol levels going down; possibly even all medication
for diabetes taking a hike. It has already happened for other members

Was Vincent Van Gogh 'too beautiful for this world.'
I don't think so.
He was someone who was functional when he painted -
but at no other time. He had no idea how to
sell his work. He had no idea how to get along with
people. His mind was filled with little more than negative
images, not only of himself, but of the world at large.
Salvador Dail, on the other hand, sold his paintings all
over the world WHILE he was living. He connected with
people while he was alive. He was engaging and alive in
virtually everything he did. When he spoke, people listened.
Dali was a good friend of Dr. Maxwell Maltz. He was also
a fan of Psycho-Cybernetics. So much so that he created
a painting for Dr. Maltz and gave it to him as a gift. This
same painting appears on the cover of The New Psycho-
Cybernetics - the revised edition featuring Dr. Maltz and
Dan Kennedy - available at amazon.com.
What did Dali understand that Van Gogh didn't - not to
mention all the other starving artists out there.
First, Dali understood that starvation is not glamorous.
He understood that there is no such thing as being 'too
beautiful for this world.' You either get what you want
out of life or you don't.
Second, Dali understood that there were two orientations
toward life: One moves toward the sun - one toward
darkness. He understood that you can sail on a sea of
calm waters with a helmsman on board your vessel - or
you can choose a directionless life, floundering on a raging
sea of frustration and failure - with no helmsman in the
vessel.
Third, Dali understood that you can view yourself as
valuable and what you do as valuable. Or you can
view yourself as unimportant.
Fourth, Dali realized that you can see yourself as larger than
life - or you can see yourself as no larger than a small potato.
Last, Dali understood that it wasn't talent that caused success. He
realized it had far more to do with something called 'self-image.'
He understood that talent is everywhere - but most with talent have
negative images of the possibilities that life offers - if you'll open
yourself to them.
Dali became larger than life, WHILE on this earth - and afterward.
Dail's success began on the inside; he pictured more than what he
painted on a canvas. Dali's mind was filled with images of success -
so he moved toward those images and received them.
Van Gogh's mind was filled with the negative - and he got what he
thought about. It was only when his negative mind was removed
from the equation that his paintings sold. If he were still alive, he'd
still be starving because that's how he thought of himself.
Van Gogh got from life what he pictured - but didn't paint.
So did Dali.
In your own life you have a choice to make: To be like Dali - or
Van Gogh. One was a prosperous artist - the other starved. Both
had immense talent - but talent doesn't make for a successful life.
The key to greatness lies in the way that you think; the way you think
about your life and what you want from it.
Keep your mental pictures off the things you don't want - and make
sure you never add Van Gogh like negative emotion to the things you
don't want. Otherwise you're inviting failure - even tragedy.
Picture the good things you want with happy, outlandish, outrageous,
Dali-like emotion - then stand back and observe these things becoming
part of your reality.
Best,
Matt Furey
