My mind is my biggest asset.
I expect to win every tournament I play.
- Tiger Woods
The quote listed above reminds me of what I said
prior to going to China in 1997, for the World
Shuai-chiao Kung fu Championships.
Each member of the team was asked to say some-
thing to go into a souvenir program.
I said: "I never go into a competition expecting to lose.
I go expecting to win - and win I do."
Twas cocky of me to say this. But it was how I felt in
my training - so I let the quote stand.
Glad I did.
Expecting to win is not the same as wanting to win.
When you expect to win you have amplified your
imagination. You've pushed your level of desire
up a notch.
Key thing to remember is that you have no right to
expect success if you do nothing to bring it about.
You imagine what you want, you see yourself excited
about achieving what you want - then you make a vow
to do WHATEVER it takes to make it happen.
This is true in sports, in fitness, in business - and in
everything else.
You don't make excuses. You make progress instead.
You set your mind on a target - you get a mental picture
of it - then you MOVE.
Whenever you see someone who has goals but is not
succeeding, look at whether the person is willing to do
whatever it takes. I'm betting he's not. He'll do a little
bit and if results don't come immediately, he'll get
frustrated.
Wrong move.
Frustration is NOT part of the success process. Get over
it.
Do what champions do.
When success eludes them, they focus MORE - not less.
They recommit. They "get tough."
Today's world is filled with sissies who want to baby their
way to the top.
Good idea, if applied properly.
What do I mean.
What I mean is this: Observe the baby. Falls down 1,000 times,
gets up 1,000. Eventually learns to walk. But not by a parent
who says, "Oh Johnny, you've fallen so many times. You've
worked so hard. I think you should try something else."
The same applies to any endeavor. The more you fail, the
more you fall down, the closer you are to success.
This evening I'll be sending you more information that will
help you on your journey. Stay tuned. It'll be contained in the
email on The TRUMP CARD.

I gotta lay it on the line here. From the time I
was a teenager to the present - the hype
surrounding the bench press has gone wild.
People are now conditioned to believe that how
much weight you can press while lying on your
back counts for something.
And it does.
It counts for a lot of torn rotator cuffs, a lot of
blown pecs and big useless pecs that don't
contribute a whole lot to being functionally fit
or strong.
Making matters worse - because many people
fall in love with "benching" - it's almost all they
do. The whole workout is nothing but taking turns
on the bench.
A far, far, FAR better measure of your strength can
be summed up with the following question that the
farmers in Iowa used to ask me:
"Hey feller, how much weight can you put up over yer
head."
That one used to stump me when I was busy building my
bench press. But it was the right question.
How much you can pick up from the floor, hoist to your
shoulders, then press overhead - sounds a lot like what
a farmer might have to do when he working the hay
fields or doing other chores.
Doing the old fashioned clean and jerk and snatch - although
true measures of overall body strength - are pretty doggone
hard for many to learn. Moreover, they're just not the best
exercises for a lot of people to do because of age, previous
injuries, overall coordination, etc.
This is why it's a good idea to begin with Combat Conditioning -
http://mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html - wherein you
are building FUNCTIONAL strength with nothing more than your
own body weight. Just like animals in the wild.
Bodyweight exercises build strength, endurance and flexibility
simultaneously. And Combat Conditioning starts you off with
the Royal Court - the Big 3 of exercise: Hindu squats, Hindu
pushups and bridging.
Once you're doing these fairly well - then it's time to reverse
things. By this I mean that instead of seeing how much weight
you can "put over your head" - you kick into a handstand - lean
against a wall and work on pressing your entire body weight up
and down.
It's harder than using a barbell with weights. It's more challenging.
But when it comes to creating FUNCTIONAL strength - it is truly
magnificent.
You can read more about doing these handstand pushups - by going
to http://mattfurey.com/handstand_training.html

P.S. I started a whole new series of daily emails on my marketing site -
http://knockoutmarketing.com - wherein I reveal the 51 Bullsh*t Way
to Make a Fortune Online. I think you'll get a tremendous kick out of
the humor and straightforward delivery of these dispatches.
When you listen to all the "Law of Attraction"
experts - you learn that the key to success is
focusing on what you want and refusing to
focus on what you don't want.
You're told that if you violate this principle you
will attract what you don't want - and if you
focus on the fact that you've attracted what
you don't want - you'll get even more of the
same thing.
My friend, there are some very large loops in
this logic.
Suppose you break your leg. Suppose it's a
compound fracture and you need to get the
bone put back inside your skin. You might
even need a plate or pin inserted into your
leg to hold the bones in place.
Now, you can get me to agree that you had
something to do with "creating" this problem.
But you will not get me to agree that if you
focus on getting the leg fixed - that you'll
create another broken leg.
In my Psycho-Cyb coaching program I work
with several doctors - and many of them are
surgeons.
Funny thing I've observed about surgeons.
They're much more optimistic,
upbeat and energetic than the regular M.D. who
only prescribes medicine or looks at how much
pain you're in - but can do next to nothing to
fix it.
Yes, surgeons are very positive people. And what
do they do for a living. They saw off old hips and
knees and replace with a new one. They reattach
retinas. They remove tumors. They correct defects
in hearts. And so on.
Surgeons perform tens of thousands of operations
during their career. Dr. Maltz said he did 25,000.
Sure, some surgeries being performed today are
unnecessary. I'm not talking about those. What I'm
talking about is the moment you have a severe health
problem and you need the problem fixed NOW.
It's the surgeon who comes to the rescue - and usually
leaves with yet another success under his belt. Another
win. Another condition conquered.
The person who undergoes a surgery like a hip replacement
or knee replacement, doesn't show up on a weekly basis for
another replacement - even if he thinks about the surgery
all day long.
What does this tell us.
It tells us that we can use visualization to eliminate conditions
we don't want - just as much as we can use it to attract those
things we do want.
There is a right way and a wrong way to visualize "getting rid" of
the things we don't want. Surgery is an easy example because
all you have to do is show up.
But when it comes to eliminating debt, depression, overweight,
bad relationships, etc. - there is a difference in how you will
want to focus. On the one hand you want to attract something
better - but on the other hand you don't want to attract more
of the same.
These are things I teach in great detail to members of the Psycho-
Cyb Success Group. Make sure you're a part of it. I have some great
incentives for you to enroll - including a Wheel of Fortune poster.
Make sure you go to http://psycho-cybernetics.com/success_group.html

All the best,

No matter how short or tall you are - you'll
instantly FEEL better if you walk TALL.
I know a lot of tall people who slouch, almost
as if they're embarrassed to be taller than you.
This robs them of their confidence and courage.
I know short people who walk like they're tall
and they send out huge vibrations of energy
because of this. Others are often surprised
when they stand toe-to-toe and see, for the
first time, that the person with the big energy
isn't so tall.
Another thing to perfect is what I call the Thousand
Mile Stare. This is an important look you develop
from visualizing on a purpose held strongly in
your mind for a long period of time.
I teach how to develop this look in the latest edition
of the Psycho-Cyb Success Group newsletter - so
you don't want to miss that one.
Along with that I will give you yet another of the 50 Most
Powerful Visualizations of ALL Times - wherein I will cover
in illustrious and empowering detail - how to walk taller
than you've ever imagined - and have everyone in the
room FEELING it.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he
stands in moments of comfort and convenience,
but where he stands at times of challenge
and controversy.
--Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968)
American civil rights leader
The kids have today off - so this will be a
quick note.
In high school, the MOST inspiring and uplifting
film I ever watched was Martin Luther King, Jr.'s
immortal, "I Have a Dream Speech."
Last year I put it on my blog - so you can search it
there or just hit the search engines. It's well worth
watching each year around this time - if not more
often.
***
As for yesterday's ice bowl in Green Bay - well, it's not the
exact equivalent of the Civil Rights movement - that was
pure guts - but if there's anything that comes close, it's
the coaches, players and fans who take to the outdoors in
-24 degrees wind chill - and love it.
Wow.
What a game.
The New England v. San Diego game was not nearly as
exciting - in part because there was too much comfort.
No big deal to play in 32 degree weather compared to
Green Bay.
Playing ball in those conditions is ALL about being
mentally tough. Wimps cannot function in a game
like we saw last night.
More importantly, in this game we saw, once again,
how you've got to let your mistakes GO. You've got
to keep your head up and try, try again.
This is what New York had to do. Bring in a kicker who'd
missed two chip-shot field goals and let him try to kick
a 47-yarder.
In the ice bowl of Green Bay, no opposing team had ever kicked a
field goal beyond 40 yards in the post-season. The previous longest
field goal was only 38 yards.
Well, Lawrence Tynes redeemed himself, didn't he. He drilled the
ball right through the uprights.
I hate the Gi-ants. But I respect winners and the GIANTS proved they
deserve to be in the Big One.
Congrats to them and the Patriots. What a game that will be.
Look - if you believe a bit of Martin Luther King's, Tom Brady's, as
well as the Packers and Giants mental toughness can make your life
better - then I strongly urge you to take a look at two of my programs:
1. The 50 Most Powerful Visualizations of ALL Times - go to

You'll hear a lot of positive thought writers saying you should
NOT watch television because almost everything you watch is
negative and it will make you that way too.
What is my take on the matter.
First, most television IS negative - if you choose to see it that
way. True, most of it offers very little value and detracts from
you playing an active role in life - but you can turn this around
if you view it to learn what not to do.
Second, some t.v. is fantastic. A number of programs for kids -
and adults - place you in a state of wonder and excitement to
learn new things. My daughter, Faith, has learned most of her
English watching this little girl named Dora and her brother
Diego. And the few times I've watched Sponge Bob with my
kids I've been amazed at the number of references to concepts
like the 'power of your imagination' - visualization, mental movie
theatres, and so on.
Third, the news is almost always something to avoid watching - unless
you're a professional copywriter. In that case the news is positive
even when it's negative.
Why.
Because it gives you ideas you can use to better market your
products and services. Talk about what everyone is thinking
about and you've entered the conversation in peoples' minds.
True, your goal for today is probably not a worthwhile one
if it is nothing more than getting the latest scoop on Britney
Spears - but things are different when you're an entrepreneur
looking for ideas.
Fourth, if you're in the entertainment business, the info-
marketing business, the copy writing business - or anything like
that - then you CAN watch almost anything - even a horrible
movie - and get ideas you can use to improve your business.
But you've got to be looking for them.
Remember though, as you're watching the so-called 'idiot box'
you're doing so for one reason and one reason only - to get
the fodder for what you need to write or say.
Because so much of society IS tuned into the the latest about
Rosie, Anna, Britney, Madonna, J. Lo, Janet, Michael Jackson,
O.J., Tonya Harding and so on - it's an easy way to come up
with something to write or speak about that will pull the
average reader or listener in.
The above represents what I consider a 'fair and balanced' view
on the subject of television watching. The key questions to ask
yourself about your watching of t.v. are as follows:
1. Is what you're watching inspiring you to become MORE than
you are right now. If so, you're watching something useful.
My son gets mega excited watching NFL football. It's kindled
a desire in him to learn more, be more and do more. The same
goes when he watches Animal Planet or Discovery or
the History channels.
2. Is the time you're spending watching tee-vee leading you
closer to or further away from your goals.
3. How much more could you accomplish in life if you cut back
on the time you spend before the tee-vee.
What are my tee-vee habits.
Good question:
On MOST days I don't watch a single minute. Not one. I have never
watched a single minute of The Sopranos - and when it comes to
most daytime or night time stars, I've never heard of them.
If you begin talking about your favorite shows, chances are I will
not have any clue as to what you are saying.
Well then, how do I come up with so many ideas for my writing.
Good question.
I get my ideas in 3 ways:
1. I pull them directly out of the ethers - stream-of-consciousness.
I never question what I'm writing. I don't think about it. I just start
pounding the key board with my fingertips.
2. I read. I have found that the more I read the easier it is to come
up with ideas for my writing.
3. I observe everything around me, including every conversation I
have - even those with myself.
Last point: Our home has a big screen HDTV with 500 and some
channels.
The size of my library, however, makes the large black box seem
like a sheet of paper. If you were to offer me a few thousand bucks
for my t.v. - I'd sell it to you. If you offered me the same to borrow
a few books from my library, the answer would be 'no.'
Jim Rohn is noted for saying you'll know the direction someone
is heading in life by the size of his t.v. when compared to the
size of his library. I think he's right.
I also think you'll know the direction someone is going based
upon how much time he spends reading compared to time
spent watching t.v.
Something to think about, eh.

P.S. The best thing you can watch will always be the movies

true this is. Be sure to become part of it today by going to

Here are 6 health secrets that will put you in
the present moment - giving you peace of mind.
1. When you go to sleep at night - sleep as if this is
the last time you will ever have the opportunity.
2. When you arise in the morning - push away from
the bed and immediately begin to move your body.
Leave your bed behind the same way you would
discard a pair of worn socks.
3. When speaking to someone - give him or her the
feeling there is no one more important to whom you
will ever speak.
4. When eating, take time to taste each and every
bite.
5. While at work, focus on your breathing, observe
how you do what you do, and think of it as practice.
6. When you exercise, smile into every movement.
If you find a painful expression on your face, lighten
it.
Do these things today and for the rest of your life
and you won't go wrong.
Combat Conditioning - http://mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html
will make it easy for you to push away from your bed each day.
I recommend Dao Zou - http://mattfurey.com/dao_zou.html - it'll
help you unwind you mind, reduce stress and increase memory and
brain power.

P.S. What about making your bed in the morning. Tis best to get to
a position where someone does it for you :). Until then, do it
yourself. With a smile, of course.
In China they have a saying, 'Ren lao xian lao tui.'
This means, 'When a person gets old, the legs get
old first.'
When viewing the aging quarterback, boxer or hoops
shooter - we know this is true. For martial artists,
tis one of the reasons why so many after 40 turn
to the so-called 'internal' arts, such as tai chi chuan,
xingyi, bagua and so on. The aging athlete cannot
keep up with the heavy demands of the rigorous
art anymore.
People who regularly fly the friendly skies, especially
those loooonnngg flights, are becoming more and more
concerned with their legs going bad. We call it 'deep vein
thrombosis, aka DVT.
Poor blood circulation in the lower legs can lead to heart
attack and stroke. Not a good thing.
One of the good things about flying on Chinese airlines
is that via the television monitor, the passengers are
prompted to move and exercise. And the exercises they
give are excellent.
Walking is great for the legs. So is jumping. I recommend
you use a good rope for your jumping - those that Bobby
Hinds at LifelineUSA makes are best - http://www.lifelineusa.com
And of course the squatting in Combat Conditioning - that'll get
you in fine, fine shape.
Yet, nothing WAKES the legs up and super-charges them more than
the slapping, knocking and tapping movements we teach in the
Chinese Long Life System - http://www.chineseculturesecrets.com/long_life.html
Why is this.
Quite simply, these slaps and knocks immediately improve blood
circulation. And they increase chi flow along all the meridians in the
body.
The meridians in your body are like the lanes on a freeway. So long
as the traffic is moving, all is well. But ... if at any time the traffic
stalls, tempers flair, blood pressure rises and, in some cases, bullets
fly.
Imagine this same scenario in your own body. If you're tired, fatigued
or feeling less than extraordinarily magnificent, then the chi is not
flowing in your body as it should. Imagine what a profound change
will transpire when all circuits are on, when all the energy in your
body is flowing as it should.
Not only will your legs stay young, powerful, lean and flexible -
but if you travel via plane, you'll laugh when you hear talk about
deep vein thrombosis. The chances of those who practice the Chinese
Long Life System having this problem are slim and none and slim just
left town.
To recap, keep your legs young by walking, jumping and doing Hindu
squats. If you cannot do Hindu squats, do the Wall Chair - or do the
1/4 squats shown in the Chinese Long-Life System.
Then make sure you learn all the slaps, knocks and so on that invigorate,
rejuvenate and recharge your body like nothing else in the world.
Oh, by the way, Gary, one of the Furey Faithful, wrote yesterday
to say that he recently went on a cruise in which many Chinese were on
board. Being he's a tai chi practitioner, he figured he'd get up early to
practice along with them. To his amazement, no one was practicing tai
chi. Instead .. they were doing these exercises that el Fure-Cat has been
raving about.
Imagine dhat. Once again, this Fure-cat is way ahead of all the other
wannabees on this here Internet. Just when the copykatsz think they've
caught up to me, I leap frog over them in a single bound.
There are a few reasons why this cat can leap-frog the others so quickly.
But the most important is that my legs are still young. Learn how I keep
'em that way by getting the Chinese Long-Life System.

"A zero represents nothingness and everything at the
