Why Eli and the Giants Won

Why Eli and the Giants Won

The Giants had the ball. Eli Manning was in position,
ready to take the first hand-off of the game.

I'd seen all I needed to see.

I called my brother, Sean.

"Patriots are in trouble. Did you see Manning's eyes."

"Sure did."

"This guy won't be beaten."

Sean agreed.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter I watched
Tom Brady walk off the field. Not the cool,
calm, collected Brady he normally is when he
has all day to set up his passes.

I called Sean again.

"Did you see Brady."

"I did."

"His cage is rattled, huh."

"Sure is."

"Whenever you see pouting and whining - you know
the tide has definitely turned - no matter what the
score. Another bad sign for the Patriots."

Minutes later Brady marched the Pats down the
field for the go-ahead score.

My son cheered wildly.

"Don't celebrate too early," I said. "The game isn't
over."

Eli put on his helmet and took the field. As he did so
you could feel his absolute belief and total conviction. He
would not be beaten.

And then the "miracle" pass.

Not the Immaculate Reception - but doggone close.

The game was just as well as over. In fact, it was
over before it started.

Forget the score. Forget who was in the lead for
what amount of time. Just watch the eyes of the
quarterbacks. Read the face. It'll tell you all you
need to know.

Despite winning three previous Super Bowls; despite
guiding the Patriots to an almost perfect season -
the fact is Brady didn't want to win as much as Eli
Manning and the Giants. He wasn't AS hungry.

So much of success is nothing more than
"staying hungry." It's all about DESIRE.

Who wants it the most.

Twas a painful lesson I learned, more than once,
as a competitive wrestler.

Today, as a success coach, I can tell who is ready for
success and who isn't.

Some are ready when the game begins - but
after things get a little rough and "the game"
isn't as easy as you'd hoped - if you take the
person's "vision pulse" - you may find it has
dimmed significantly.

I see this all the time.

I see it in the eyes and on the face. And what I see
BEGINS in the other person's mind.

Wanting to win is a feeling that vibrates from
every cell in your brain and body. Even if
you say you want to win - whenever you lose
you can point to the other guy and say, "Well,
he must have wanted to win MORE."

That was the story last night. And it's the story
every day of our lives.

Winning isn't about physical strength. It isn't
about who has the strongest hands, arms,
legs, neck or abs - although physical strength
most certainly help.

It isn't about who is fastest or most skilled, either -
even those these qualities also help.

It's about WHO wants it most. It's about who
has the strongest MENTAL MUSCLES.

Your mind is and always will be the most important
muscle on and off the field.

Those who have played the game at the highest
levels and have emerged victorious understand
this. Those who have merely played - don't.

In short, Eli Manning played his TRUMP CARD
yesterday.

As someone who has won several national titles
and a world championship, I know what it's like
to play your TRUMP. I also know how to play it
in any endeavor you're involved in.

Do you.

If not, I strongly suggest you click the following
link below and order your copy of The TRUMP CARD.

I've already sold out the first two editions of this
special report - and am now giving the third edition
away to the next 199 to raise their hands and say,
"Hell YEAH. I want to WIN more than the other guy."

place your order NOW.

P.S. Did you notice the color change in Bill Belichick's
clothing. And Tom Brady's shorter than usual haircut.
Did they jinx themselves - or is this mere superstition.
Better yet - did they have a success ritual that they
ignored when it really counted. Hmm. Better get your
TRUMP CARD and find out - http://mattfurey.com/trump_card.html

Five Second Abs for Breakfast

Five Second Abs for Breakfast

One of the great things about Combat Abs is that
the main exercise, The Farmer Burns Stomach
Flattener, which is frequently done before breakfast,
doesn't take much time. Just 10 repetitions or so -
and the rigorous part of the exercise lasts only
2-5 seconds.

Always remember to follow the instructions in the book -
http://www.mattfurey.com/combat_abs.html

There are two other times when doing The Farmer
Burns Stomach Flattener (for info on the Farmer
Burns course on physical culture and wrestling go to
http://www.mattfurey.com/farmerburns.html )
- is appropriate (actually there are many).

The first is whilst sitting at a stop light.

Here in Tampa, you can easily hammer out five to
ten quick 5-second reps at a red light.

The other perfect time is when flying the friendly
skies. Once you've been in the air a couple hours
and want to wake up - and tone up - take your deep
breath and get flexing.

Each day look in the mirror and 'behold the difference.'
It truly is remarkable.

Kick butt - take names,

No More Monkeys

No More Monkeys

Next time you feel like you're being assaulted
with "things to do" - take a moment to consider
the following:

a. You'll get more done faster if you focus on one
thing at a time.

Picture the surgeon. He performs one operation
after another, all day long. He doesn't think about
the NEXT surgery while doing the first. If he does
he'll botch the job he's on.

b. When you feel pressure to get "everything" done -
take a moment to focus on the area between your
neck and shoulder blades - your "traps." This is
where a lot of tension is stored.

Let's take the time to release it.

You've probably heard people talking about needing
to get the "monkeys off their back."

Well, you get them off your back by focusing on
one thing at a time - and anytime you feel pressure
rising, you catch yourself, take a deep breath and
focus on your upper neck and back.

Feel any monkeys.

If so, change your mental picture. Take them off.

I assure you the monkeys are slowing you down.

They are NOT helping you move faster. They are not
helping you get things done.

The best way to get things done is to make a list
of what you have to do before you begin. Then
take a few moments to breathe deeply and relax.
See yourself getting the first thing done. Then
the next.

See yourself doing all these things without pressure,
without tension - without a single monkey.

Once you've accomplished the first thing on your list,
then "clear the computer screen."

Let your mind go blank. Compartmentalize.

Now see the next thing being accomplished. Center
and focus. Then hop to it and do it.

True, you might think juggling three things at once is the
key to getting things done.

You might think that feeling overwhelmed, slammed,
swamped and beaten bloody are better ways to ponder
your daily "to do list."

I don't think so.

Take a moment to visualize all the stress monkeys on
your back. Then see all of them going away. See yourself
totally focused and totally relaxed - in the flow.

I challenge you to do this.

Stop scratching your head. Relax, smile, breathe and
focus.

Do this for the next thing on your list today. Then on
the next. And so on. See how many things you can
knock out in a spirit of calm and relaxation.

I'm betting you'll be surprised.

Today's Interview

Today's Interview

Just got off the horn with Dr. Robert Prather
and his wife, Lisa. They're the hosts of the
radio program - The Voice of Health -
http://thevoiceofhealth.com

This was the first interview I've done for radio
in a couple years, and the second interview I've
done in the last couple days. Several more are
in the works.

Anyway, on February 9 you'll be able to listen to
the interview on the Dr. Prather website listed
above - and I'll think you'll find it fascinating.

Here's why:

Dr. Prather prescribes the exercises in Combat
Conditioning for his patients - as he and his
wife use the program and have experienced
incredible results.

He also recommends the program for children
who are ADD as it helps their minds settle so
they can concentrate better.

One of the other good things we addressed was
the importance of deep breathing in your exercise
routine.

As Farmer Burns once wrote, "Deep breathing alone
has made many a weak man strong and many a sick
man well."

How true - and the exercises in Combat Conditioning
are designed to force you into deep breathing mode.

That's a good thing with immeasurable health benefits.

I'll remind you when the interview goes LIVE. In the
meantime, make sure you're experiencing the benefits
of CC - http://mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html

TRUMP CARD Update

TRUMP CARD Update

Well, we sold out the first issue of the TRUMP
CARD pretty fast. And while it was happening
I decided to add even more material to it.

Here's why: Last weekend at my MasterMind and
Psycho-Cyb meetings, a number of phrases came
out of my mouth - and afterward I kept thinking,
"Oh, I gotta put THAT in the TRUMP CARD."

Not only that, but in the Psycho-Cyb meeting, when
we did a visualization that changes a painful experience
from the past into a positive, we heard a couple stories
that TRUMPED everyone in the room. I'm talking about
learning to drop some very heavy baggage.

So I put my thinking cap back on, went into my special
report and began to add a few details that will knock
you back in your chair.

This means that your TRUMP package will go out next
week rather than this week. I'm sure you won't mind
as the additional content is HUGE, indeed.

With this in mind I'm going to let another hundred issues
of the Trump Card Package go - but after that I must give
this a rest so we can evaluate the results.

And so, if you want to get in on the initial mailing for next
week - go to http://psycho-cyb.com/trump_card.html -

All for now,

5 Second Abs for Dinner

5 Second Abs for Dinner

So there you are, sitting at a table, waiting
for your food to arrive. Whether you're
following an 'el stricto' diet or preparing
yourself for a splurge - it's never a bad idea
to do a few repetitions of the Farmer Burns
Stomach Flattener.

This afternoon, when I was having dinner at a
local restaurant, I did a few reps - and the
good news is, no one in the joint had a clue.

That's the beauty of this whole 'five second abs' deal.
You can train your abs virtually anytime and anywhere,
and 'no one has to know.' But lie on your back and start
doing a set of 100 crunches, leg lifts, situps and so on -
and anyone who is in the room knows what you're trying
to do.

As an aside, yesterday Carol (the head honcho in charge of
fulfillment for all my products), forwarded me an email from
a man who does the Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener whilst
holding the wall chair position taught in Combat Conditioning -
http://www.mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html - and I
think the dude is right on the muney.

Another 'hidden' benefit of training your abs the way I teach in
Combat Abs - http://www.mattfurey.com/combat_abs.html - is
greatly improved digestion. Anyone who travels often knows how
a simple change in food, time, weather, work hours, and so on -
can put your digestive system in disorder. But when you do the
Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener - that's not a problem.

When you take the deep breathing aspect of this exercise and combine
it with abdominal flexing, you're simultaneously giving your intestines
the 'plunger' treatment. Believe me now and listen to me later, doing the
Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener is sort of like getting a healthy
dose of 'cosmic fiber.' Do a set before breakfast in the morning, and
before dinner (lunch, supper, snacks, mid-time meals, etc.) and you
will experience the flow in more ways than one.

Well, it's now noonish here in Florida, and my stomach is telling me to
feed it. So I'm going to sign off now. But before I do, remember this:
The more awareness you bring to your abdominals and midsection
throughout the day, the faster your results. And really, how hard is
it to bring awareness to a body part in five-second increments.

Kick butt - take names,

Matt Furey

Land of Milk and Buzzing

Land of Milk and Buzzing

Yesterday's 'Whew" email got quite a reaction. Many
coaches, teachers and managers wrote to say how
valuable the tip was and how they forwarded it to
many friends and colleagues.

For this, I thank you.

Today I'd like to talk about visualization a bit - but
mostly about how you will FEEL (as well as look) when
you're doing it the Psycho-Cyb way.

Quite often, those who leave my seminars and coaching
days write to tell me they're still "BUZZING."

And this is the right word.

When you visualize the right way, it's like you've entered
the Promised Land - the Land of Milk and Honey. Only
difference is when you drink cosmic milk and honey -
you don't just feel more energized - you BUZZ with
energy.

You vibrate at a whole new level.

This BUZZ can be detected by others, even if you're
sitting by yourself, calmly reading a book - eating
a meal or having a conversation.

It can be felt by others when you enter a room. Tis
why people respond to you differently when you're
regularly Psycho-Cyb'ing yourself - or getting Psycho-
Cyb'd by me.

When you've been Psycho-Cyb'd - your face takes on
a whole new look. Pain and frustration are replaced
with a Cheshire cat grin. The cat has been let out of
the bag - unconditional happiness abounds.

You realize you can be happy anytime. Not just when
you achieve a goal - but on the path to the goal.

As you progress into more advanced studies in Psycho-
Cyb, you will discover that others begin to BUZZ when
they listen to you talk, when they read your written
words - or when they simply hang around you.

I was first made aware of this in 1988, a year after
picking up, reading and LIVING the principles I teach
today.

I was in Ashland, Oregon, working a wrestling camp.
Upon being introduced to another coach, we shook
hands. He then turned to the man who introduced us
and said, "Wow, what's going on with this guy. He's
got some energy, eh."

I had no idea what the man experienced - no idea what
he was even talking about. But I do today.

He was not referring to the strength of my grip - as I
never shake hands with a finger-breaking grip. In fact,
my handshake is surprisingly soft.

What he was referring to was the BUZZ coming from
inside. The electricity inside the handshake. An electricity
that makes people feel welcome when they meet you.

How'd you like to have some of this electrical BUZZ, too.

You can develop it when you study what I am teaching.

More on Wrist & Elbow Pain

More on Wrist & Elbow Pain

This past weekend I heard from five different
people who "used to" have wrist and elbow
pain.

Including the ubiquitous Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Yet, in each and every case the pain was eliminated
by doing the exercises I teach in my course entitled,
How to Eliminate Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Pain in
Less than 30 Days.

Once again, the program works for far more than
carpal tunnel. It works for pain in the hands and
wrists, as well as elbow tendonitis.

In fact, that's how I discovered this solution to so
many peoples' problem. I used to have chronic
elbow pain - brought on by a combination of
wrestling and weight training.

But within one week of doing the exercises my
kung fu teacher showed me, my pain was gone.

I then began teaching the same to my personal
training clients and not only did they get stronger
throughout the entire arm - but pain in their
wrists went away.

And so, if you suffer from hand, wrist or elbow
pain - be sure to take a very serious look at
this program - http://carpaltunnelfix.com

Whew.

Whew.

What a weekend. Just went through 3 days of training
with my Marketing MasterMind and Psycho-Cyb
coaching groups.

"Best meeting EVER," were the words heard over and
over.

Two of the reasons for the incredibly productive meetings
were as follows:

1. I looked at mistakes I made last year as a coach and
vowed not to repeat them. One was being "too open" to
the suggestions of others. There is a fine line between
listening to someone who has good advice and getting
feedback that is intended to be destructive. Yes, some
people advise you on things they should not - and the
result - if you follow it - often spells doom.

2. I eliminated members who don't listen, don't follow
through, have advice for everyone but themselves;
have extreme arrogance issues, and those who are
envious of me or others in the group - yet want to be
the teacher.

Michael Storms, a long-time friend who is also a MasterMind
and Psycho-Cyb member sent me a quote yesterday that
I think you'll find intriguing.

"You cannot be mentored by someone you envy or resent.
Effective mentoring requires you to be humble enough to
admire your mentor. Immature egocentric people can't do
this and are destined to remain in their current state, and
cease growing."

Wooo - that hit the nail right through the head.

As I taught yesterday, success comes from being willing to
look at and correct your mistakes. It does NOT come from
never making any mistakes.

Also, it is important to be aware of the people you have
around you. If you want to rise to new heights, you will
be stymied by those who are negative, envious, bitter,
resentful - and so on.

So choose your associates wisely. And if you're a coach or
manager - choose your students and employees wisely.

In the event that you have bad energy around you - do the
right thing and remove it.

Don't, however, do this once and think your job is done.
Continually look at mistakes. Continually look at who
needs to be replaced, dismissed or FIRED.

Failure to look at your mistakes dooms you to failure.

Failure to look at who you have around you dooms you
to remain like them.

Be back tomorrow with more.

Don't Over Do Exercise

Don't Over Do Exercise

Here's the sad truth - although exercise is great
for getting you physically fit - if you overdo it, it
may NOT extend your life.

After the age of 40 you'll see many hard-core
martial artists going to tai chi and other 'softer'
forms. There is a reason.

The harder training is no longer giving them the
HEALTH they seek - and after 40, priorities must
and often do shift.

One of the things I love about the exercises I teach in
Combat Conditioning and Combat Abs is the positive
effect they have on your body, internally and externally.

They really do supercharge your system.

Thing is, many people have been sedentary for so long -
or overtrained for so long, that their internal body is
exhausted.

The average person gets up tired, goes to work tired, comes
home tired and goes to bed tired.

Part of the problem is the S.A.D. diet people follow.

But .. as I famous man once told me, 'Exercise is king.'

Nutrition is important - but putting high-test fuel in an engine
you never use renders it functionless. It can't do anything for
you unless YOU do something.

For a number of years many of the Furey Faithful have asked
for a program that allowed their loved ones to 'ease' into
exercise; a program that didn't require so much athleticism or
umph.

Regretably, our answer has always been, just start with Combat
Conditioning, do only what you can, then adjust accordingly. Or
for a number of people, 'our program will be too strenuous for you.'

Well, NOW we have an answer for the man or woman who is already
beaten down, either from overdoing it for too many years - or beaten
down from NOT doing anything. Yes, tis true: Your body does wear out
fast from inactivity. Yet, it doesn't need to be beaten up from doing too
much or from doing nuttin. There is an answer for you.

And that answer is my new Chinese Long-Life System - available at
http://www.chineseculturesecrets.com/long_life.html

This extraordinary program is simple, gently and easy enough for
virtually any able-bodied man or woman to get started. Afterall, how
difficult is it to remember to press on 3 different pressure points for
a few minutes per day.

That's how easy it is for YOU to begin.

After working these three health points, you can roll right into some
gently slaps of various areas of the body that you want to come alive.

Again, how hard is it to slap your arm or leg. Not very.

Then there are the free-flowing calisthenics, all done from your feet.

Nothing hard-core for those who cannot handle hard-core.

Now here's something that is a major surprise to many: If a very fit
person begins doing the exercises in the Chinese Long-Life System,
his health will skyrocket, too.

I first tested the program on a group of hard-core athletes. Wasn't sure
if they'd see the immense benefits I was touting. But feel them they did
and they begged me for weeks to release the rest of the program.

Finally, after six weeks, I relented. And NOW you can jump in with both
feet with absolutely no fear of exercising.

Yes, you'll still want to begin slowly. Yes, you'll still want to talk things over
with your physician.

But begin slowly has never been easier for you.

Not only that, but for those of you who are already at your peak, you really
need something more to rejuvenate, repair and revive your body.

In China, I've seen men and women in their 80's and 90's move like young
children. In fact, in many cases, better than young children.

What is their secret.

Go to http://www.chineseculturesecrets.com/long_life.html and find out.
