5 Second Abs for More Energy

5 Second Abs for More Energy

In previous messages I've written about
doing the Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener -
http://mattfurey.com/farmerburns.html
in the shower, the car, the bedroom and
so on.

When I write about this incredibly effective
exercise, I normally speak about how it
reduces the waistline and strengthens your
core.

But yesterday, Dave, a Matt Furey Inner Circle
member, put up a message about how he's
been doing this abdominal exercise in the
shower - and how he's found it energizes
him in a big way.

He's absolutely right.

One of things about the Farmer Burns Stomach
Flattener is that is rapidly ramps up your energy
and awareness.

And it doesn't matter where you are when you do it.
Any time you need to recharge or re-energize, you
simply do the breathing and flexing exercises I teach
in Combat Abs - http://mattfurey.com/combat_abs.html -
and you'll go into a different realm very quickly.

Dave says he's been doing very short workouts with
this exercise and a number of others throughout the
day, routines that take only a few minutes - and he's
liking the results he's getting.

This goes to show, once again, that you do not need
to engage in long, long, long workouts to get the
results you want. If you take a couple minutes, every
hour on the hour to do some Hindu pushups, Hindu
squats - http://mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html -
or the Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener - you'll
be amazed at what it will do for you throughout the
day.

So never let time be an excuse for inactivity. All of us have
the same 24 hours each day. Make a decision to find the
time. Schedule a little mini-workout into your day - and
do it no matter what.

Get Tough,

Matt Furey

P.S. If you're looking for a good book on mental toughness,
check out Mike Chapman's "Wrestling Tough." I just received
a copy and have been reading it to my son. Great stuff. Yours
truly is featured in a few of the chapters. Go to

Strengthen Your Weak Links

Strengthen Your Weak Links

The most important muscle in your
body is the one positioned between
your ears.

And the fastest way to increase your
strength, endurance and flexibility is
NOT by working out harder and harder -
although that can be part of the equation.

The fastest way to get results and make your
weak links stronger is to make the connections
between your brain and your body stronger.

This is done in three ways:

1. Proper breathing
2. Powerful use of your imagination
3. Good posture and movement

Let me take a simple exercise to illustrate strength
and weakness. This exercise is called: Getting out of
bed in the morning.

Okay, if you're like most, you wake up to the sound of
an electronic rooster.

And when the rooster crows, you either get out of bed
slowly, almost in a stupor, or you reach over and hit
the snooze button.

Now, why on earth would you do this.

You do it because in your brain you store a mental
picture of yourself getting up groggy - or of hitting
the snooze button for more sleep.

Inside this mental picture are words like, "I'm tired."
Or ""I just need ten more minutes then I'll be fine."

Once the alarm goes off the mental picture of being
damn near comatose fires - along with the words -
and this creates a feeling in your mind/body.

You barely have the strength to get out of bed.

But on the days in which you are going on vacation -
or you have a very important meeting at an early hour -
you carry a different mental picture with vastly different
self-talk. And guess what. On those mornings you pop
out of bed with gusto and a feeling of greatness.

You are far stronger and energetic on that day than the
others.

Now you know the reason.

The same applies with strength and endurance. The fastest
way to improve each of these qualities is to begin changing
the mental picture you have of yourself - along with how
your breathe and move.

Here's a perfect example: Last week I sent out an email
announcing my Get Tough Ultimate Mind-Body Fitness
Challenge - http://gettough.com

A number of Matt Furey Inner Circle members went to the
site and immediately registered. And get this: They were
so inspired just from reading the letter I have on the
site that they worked out harder than ever before. Several
of them did 500-straight Hindu squats for the first time.
One lady did 801-straight Hindu squats.

Prior to doing 500 or 801-straight Hindu squats, these
people had the ability to do what they did. But they
didn't think they could. They never pictured it. They
gave very little thought to it.

Then, after reading about Sakai Yusai doing 1000 marathons
in seven years, their mental pictures were altered. They
realized that their so-called "tough" workout was wimpy
as hell. They realized how they'd pictured themselves being
less than they're capable of.

And so, in their very next workout, they set personal records.

Some of these people have been sore for days. Very sore.
You could say they over-did it. But the truth is they now
know they are capable of much, much more than they
thought - and the reason is because they changed what
they thought about.

Now, here's the clincher.

If these people got that inspired just from reading a letter
promoting the event - what do you think will happen to
them after spending 2.5 days with me and the other
speakers at the event.

What do you think will happen when they're swimming in
a Universe of different thoughts about what is and isn't
possible.

I can tell you right now, anyone who sets foot in the room
on May 16-18, regardless of whether he or she is wimpy,
weak, strong or super-strong - will have his mental pictures
altered forever. No one will emerge unchanged.

If 5000 words on a website can move you that much - just
think what 2.5 days - LIVE and in person - will do. Go to
http://GetTough.com and register NOW.

Get Tough,

Matt Furey

Dead Doctor's Don't Lie

Dead Doctor's Don't Lie

Many moons ago an audio tape circulated to
virtually every mailbox in America. The title,
Dead Doctor's Don't Lie, definitely got attention.

From memory, the average physician's lifespan at
the time was about 57 years of age - far less than
the average man or woman. It may still be about
the same. Not sure.

At any rate, I believe there are two types of M.D.'s

1. Those who heal
2. Those who don't

I also believe very strongly in making sure you only
deal with physicians who heal people. Most don't.

Far too many doctors prescribe drugs that don't heal in
the least when a natural alternative would eliminate the
problem altogether.

A perfect case of this is seasonal allergies.

A couple years ago, an M.D. who falls into the "healer" camp
told me the fix for seasonal allergies. And he wasn't kidding.
I assure you, none of the fix involved seeing a doctor, getting
a check-up, a shot or having an organ removed.

I've had many, many people writing to guess what this fix
might be. Still - no cigar.

Amazing, huh.

Well, in the March issue of the Matt Furey Inner Circle program, I'll
reveal the fix for seasonal allergies, as well as the way to
eliminate bad breath, body odor and a number of other nuisances
we've bought into as normal.

They're not.

Make sure you take a test-drive of the Matt Furey Inner Circle so
you find out the answers to some of the biggest health problems
affecting mankind.

Not anymore - if you get the answer I have for you.

Go to http://www.mattfurey.com/fg324trfsr3ttai.html and register
for your test-drive NOW - along with all the other goodies I have
for you.

You've Got More in You

You've Got More in You

Whenever you think you've given every
thing you've got - think again.

Almost always, you've got more inside of
you - and you've refused to use it.

No thing and no one was stopping you from
achieving your goal - other than this person
called "yourself."

And no one is ever going to "help" you achieve
what you want - other than yourself.

I coach people; I guide them and mentor them -
I show people where the oasis is. But the student
must be someone other than a mule if he or she is
ever going to succeed with what I teach.

I have coaches and mentors, too. And if you were
to ask them about me, they would tell you that I'm
open-minded and coachable. They'd tell you that
I listen to what I'm advised and that I do it. Not
every time. But most of the time.

You'd be surprised to know how many people will
pay a personal trainer a fee, and expect magic to
happen. Yet, the student won't listen to any of the
advice given. The student pays the teacher so he
can tell you how smart he is.

Very dumb, indeed.

You've heard the saying, "You can lead a horse to
water but you can't make him drink."

It's the wrong way to view the truth of the situation -
if you ask me. Most people aren't horses being led
to water. They're mules who don't even want to see
the water, much less drink it or swim in it.

Sadly, without a coach, they have no chance at all.

They're sheep leading themselves to the slaughter.

Oftentimes the very people who come to you for help
will resist you at the same time. That's why I never
respond to emails in which the person screams
the word HELP in the subject line.

I learned a long time ago you cannot help anyone
until he or she is truly asking for help and truly
wants it. And if the person isn't willing to pay for
the help, then the chances of success are practically
zip.

The other day I received an email from someone who
read a book I recommended. He said, "That book didn't
do anything for me."

The person has it all backwards. I've never read a book
thinking the book was going to do it for me. I read in
order to learn, to grow, to keep my mind buzzing with
fresh ideas and insights.

When it comes to fitness, I can't imagine reading an
exercise book and expecting the book to get me into
shape. Yet, some people think this way. They buy books
and DVDs, then they don't follow the instructions. Then
instead of looking in the mirror at who created the
abomination of a body they have, they look elsewhere.

Don't be like that.

Open your mind. You've got more in you than you know.

If you'll take time to imagine being who you really want to
be, and if you do this everyday - followed by being willing
to do whatever it takes to succeed - there is just no way
you cannot move closer to what you want.

Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get fit.

That's the question.

If the answer is yes, come along with me and I'll show you
how to ....

Get Tough,

Matt Furey

Today's the BIG DAY

Today's the BIG DAY

Each day is as big as we choose to make it. And yes,
we do MAKE our own way each and every day.

There's nothing special about any date in time other than
the focus and meaning and concentration you
ascribe to it.

Today is a BIG day for Texas and Ohio because of the
political primaries. But it's a BIG day elsewhere for some
one else for an entirely different reason.

Perhaps it's the day you go for a raise and get it. Or it's
the day you score the winning basket in a game - or the
day you set a record in sales.

Maybe it's the day you make a big decision or achieve a
goal you've worked on for a long time.

Whatever it is, think of the mindset you went to bed with
the night before the BIG DAY.

You breathed different. You pictured things in your mind
in a different way. You talked to yourself and carried your
self with a very different energy.

Why.

Because of the meaning you gave to the day.

Imagine if you lived every day as if it was the BIG DAY.

Imagine how life would be if every night before bed you
thought to yourself, "Aaah, tomorrow is BIG because ...."

It's not too hard to do.

Sakai Yusai, the Tendai monk called the Japanese Superman
and considered a Living Buddha in Japan - ran 1,000 marathons
in seven years. Then he did it again. The second time in six
years.

One of his sayings: "Live each day as if it were your whole life."

Think about that one for a moment.

It's a powerful way to think of each day as the BIG DAY, don't you
think.

We're familiar with the saying, "Live each day as if it were your last."
Tis a great thought, too. But I think living each day as if it's your
whole life forces you to go DEEPER - to really pay attention to
everything in a more powerful way.

I hope you'll come meet Sakai Yusai this May, when he participates
in my "Get Tough Ultimate Fitness Challenge." For details go to

The Answer is Still No

The Answer is Still No

,
The guessing continues: Is it mushrooms.

No.

Is it this supplement; this vitamin or this
mineral.

No, no and no.

The "cure" for seasonal allergies, bad breath,
body odor, indigestion and many other maladies
is not some sort of magical supplement.

It's not a B-12 shot.

It's not Vitamin C.

It's not a marine oil.

It's not apples or apple peel.

It's not berries.

It's not a mutli-level marketing product.

It's not acupuncture, massage or acupressure.

It's not a trip to the chiropractor.

It's definitely not your typical M.D., osteopath
or dietician.

It's not a mineral or an amino acid or an enzyme.

It's not a colonic or enema.

And not only that, I don't have anything to
sell you after I reveal what it is to you.

You will, however, be given information on
where you can go to get it. And I assure you
it is NOT expensive.

The only thing I ask in return for what I'm going
to reveal is that you give the Matt Furey Inner
Circle a fair shake for a month.

Especially this month, the month of the Irish -
wherein you'll get to watch the latest exercise
DVD where two men bust a hump to become
the Combat Conditioning Champion.

With your subscription, you get a number of things sent
to you gratis, which makes this offer a steal.

Bad Breath and Seasonal Allergies

Bad Breath and Seasonal Allergies

Last week I wrote about a way to rid yourself
of bad breath - as well as foul body odor.

A great many people wrote trying to guess what
the "secret" is. None came close.

Today, I'm going to go a step further and tell you
something else this discovery can do:

It can eliminate seasonal allergies, clear up
indigestion, get rid of ulcers, eliminate prostate
problems, elevate seksual desire - and so on.

Last weekend, for example, I met with a family friend
who has suffered from seasonal allergies for over 20
years. Two days prior she went to the doctor to
receive a shot. It didn't help a bit. On top of the
shot she was taking allergy medicine.

And the shot and medicine didn't help. She was
still miserable.

I brought her the secret on Saturday afternoon -
at 2 PM.

She paid me and promised to follow my instructions.

On Sunday afternoon, at 2 PM, I received a call.

"Hello Matt," she said. "I called to say thank you so
much. I haven't sneezed at all today. I'm feeling much
better. This is amazing. And so simple. I can't believe it."

"Believe it," I said. "It's real."

I know another family in the area whose daughter was
getting nose bleeds at night. The parents took her to
see the doctor.

"She's got allergies," the doctor said. "And a lot of mucous.
If this doesn't clear up we may have to remove her adenoids."

"I'm not a doctor," I said. "But I think I have some information
for you that may help. And if it doesn't, just let me know and
you can have your moohlah back."

They agreed and I gave them the formula.

The first night they tried out what I said, no more bleeding.

And since that time, only one nosebleed. It happened when
they reverted to the old habits.

Want to know what this secret to eliminating bad breath, foul
body odor, allergies, indigestion and so on is.

You'll receive it later this month if you're a member of the Matt
Furey Inner Circle.

If you're not yet a member, that situation is very easy to fix. Just
go to http://www.mattfurey.com/fg324trfsr3ttai.html - and take
a test-drive of the program.

Grow Younger With Combat Stretching

Grow Younger With Combat Stretching

It's often said that when people begin to age,
the first thing they lose is their flexibility. If
this is true, one of the secrets to reversing
the aging process is increasing your flexibility.

The more flexible your muscles, the more flexible
your mind - and the more energy you have to
live life to the full.

Thing is, when most people stretch, they go
about it the wrong way. They don't use the
principles I teach in Combat Stretching, http://mattfurey.com/combat_stretching.html
principles that will double your flexibility in
one workout.

Here are some mistakes I see people making
when they stretch:

1. Frowning or tensing of the face - tense facial
muscles send a message to your brain and central
nervous system to contract and hold.

2. Holding the breath - if you hold your breath
the muscles hold onto their stiffness and rigidity.

3. Wrong mental picture - if you carry an image
of being tight as a drum your body will act the
same way.

4. Lack of focus on muscle being stretched - when
you hear of someone tearing a muscle while
stretching, it means the person was unconscious
while stretching. The mind was somewhere else.

5. Improper nutrition - yes, some foods contribute
to increased flexibility and some do not; just as
some foods help with endurance or strength.
Anyone who thinks what you put in your mouth
makes no difference in your results is ignorant.

6. Doing dumb stretches - you see a lot of people
working hard on stretches for their triceps or biceps
or calves. Nothing wrong with doing these stretches
except that when you compare them to the wrestler's
bridge or the gymnastic bridge - there is no
comparison. Do stretches that have a bigger
positive effect on the whole system.

7. Forcing results - to make progress you do not
need to use a cattle prod or a whip. Much more
can be accomplished if you relax and breathe
while holding a new mental picture of how
flexible you want to be. Whenever you try to
force things, you're increasing the chance of
injury, which means you'll have to start all over
again.

I teach all the above in far greater detail in my
Combat Stretching course. Make sure you order
today by going to http://mattfurey.com/combat_stretching.html

Abs and Seks Go Together

Abs and Seks Go Together

The other day I wrote about deep breathing exercises
and abdominal muscle flexing, and how when you do
them the way I teach in my book, Combat Abs - http://mattfurey.com/combat_abs.html - there are
many, many possible benefits, including:

* Reduced waistline
* Increased endurance
* Improved regularity - bowels
* Much stronger abs
* A powerful core
* Radiant energy
* Elimination of urinary incontinence

In addition to the above, it's a well known "insider
secret" amongst those who've followed my program,
that the deep breathing and muscle flexing I teach
can also lead to greatly enhanced seks.

I further stated that a lot of men and women have bought
into kegeling and other pelvic floor exercises. And although
these exercises are helpful to men and women alike when it
comes to exercising your mattress muscles - these same
exercises go limp when compared to the Farmer Burns
Stomach Flattener.

You can kegel, kegel, kegel and it won't reduce your
waistline a zillimeter. On the other hand, you cannot
do the Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener without also
strengthening your perineum and other pelvic muscles.
It's not possible to isolate your abs with this exercise -
even if you wanted to.

When you do the Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener you
focus on your abs like never before, sending vital qi
to the area - you then mix it with your intention
to have a superb looking waistline.

When you do this you strengthen all the weak
links from your diaphragm thru your buttocks -
including everything internally. This means
your internal organs are being helped - not
just your muscles.

Your intestines get a vigorous massage from the
Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener - which increases
the peristaltic movement necessary for bowel regularity.

Your bladder, perineum and seksual organs get a
powerful dose of training as well - something these
areas are not getting from your typical abdominal
routine.

As a result you can count on improved seksual
health - for male and female, from doing the
Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener - as taught in
Combat Abs - http://mattfurey.com/combat_abs.html

A few other exercises which help improve seksual function
are:

1. Rope skipping - this action stimulates the kidney point
on the foot which improves overall seksual health

2. Hindu pushups - the bending and arching of the spine,
along with abdominal flexing, helps tremendously

3. Bridging - I show several types of bridging in Combat
Conditioning - http://mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html -
start with what you can do and progress naturally. If unable to
do the bridge, look into doing the ....

4. Tablemaker - also found in Combat Conditioning - this
exercise works your core, your legs, hips, buttocks, arm,
shoulders - damn near everything.

Well, there you have, my friend. A few more ways to inject
spring in your step, lead into your pencil - and so on.

Get Tough,

Matt Furey

Do it or Die

Do it or Die

When I was struggling one day in the Iowa
wrestling room, I started to whine.

One of the coaches came up to me and said,
"What's wrong."

"I can't do anything right. I can't even get a
takedown today."

"Oh yeah," said the coach. "If I put a gun to
your head, and you either get a takedown or
you die - could you get one then."

I paused for a moment.

"Uh, yeah," I said.

"Well, that means you can get a takedown. No
shut up and get back out there."

I got to my feet and trained harder and with more
concentration than ever before. And I didn't just
get one takedown that same day, I got several.

I never forgot the lesson. I recall it often whenever
I think, even for a fraction of a second, that "I can't"
do something.

It's puts the opinion, the limiting belief, to the ultimate
test.

Even so, the test is simply a question - a metaphor.
Nothing more.

But imagine that you took a VOW in which you either
accomplished what you set out to do - or you would
take your own life.

Tis not something we would even consider in our
culture.

But Sakai Yusai, aka "The japanese Superman" - he
took this type of vow.

He agreed to run 1,000 marathons through the mountains
of Mt. Hiei in Kyoto - in seven years - or take his own life.

He is only one of 46 monks who passed the test in over
100 years.

Each day he left his quarters dressed in white, the color of
death - as a reminder that today may be his very last day
on earth. Tucked inside his clothing was a knife, a white
handkerchief and a rope (for hanging).

In the event he ever reached a point where he could not
continue, he was to take his own life.

Now let's talk about Getting Tough. Let's talk about being
100% committed. Let's talk about focus.

1000 marathons - done 100 days at a time - without missing
a day - in seven years.

I met Sakai Yusai, whom the Japanese consider a Living Buddha
or saint - last April. He and I hit it off like we'd known each
other for eons. I asked him if he'd like to come to America to
speak at one of my seminars.

He agreed.

He'll be here in Tampa, in May, and if I were YOU - I'd make sure
to grab one of the seats in the audience.

I assure you hearing this man's story and meeting him in person
will be a life-changing experience for you. It will go beyond
anything you can currently imagine.

Go to http://gettough.com and register for this event NOW while
there are still seats available.
