How Much Do You Hate Losing?

No, I'm not talking about how many pounds you do or don't want to lose.

I'm talking about whether or not you HATE losing in sports, contests or the game of life itself.

Make no mistake about it. Winners hate to lose even more than they love to win. As the Lombardi saying goes, "Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser."

Fact is the pain and humiliation of losing often drives champions on to victory. I know it did me.

Yes, I love winning and I train to win - but the biggest life-changing moments for me were when I was distraught over a loss and needed to pick myself up and start again.

I used the pain associated with losing to help me succeed at a higher level. If I was ho-hum about losing, I doubt I would have advanced very far.

I've been on winning and losing sides in sports, martial arts and business. And I can unequivocally say that even though the last thing I ever wanted was another loss, in some ways they did more to influence my character and future victories than the wins.

Winning comes to you a lot faster when you don't just train for and expect to win - but when you absolutely hate losing and have an attitude of intolerance about it.

This does not mean that you beat yourself up over your mistakes and failures. You forgive yourself, move on and start again. At the same time, though, you remind yourself of what leads to failure - and you do everything you can to stay away from the pitfalls that cause it. And one of the biggest causes of failure is NOT trying again and again and again - until you eventually succeed.

Mistakes and failure lead you to greater heights of achievement; they help you overcome all odds. They are not there to derail, demotivate or discourage you.

This winning attitude is part of what I'll be bringing your way in my all NEW 17 Seconds to Success Coaching Program.

Enrollment is limited on this six-week tele-coaching program because I want to get the most out of each and every person in the program.

If you want to move to the next level with your health, fitness, business, career or any other area of life - then enroll in this program pronto - while there's still time.

How to Drop 7-10 Pounds in 3 Days

Over the past couple days a truck load of you have written in to ask about the Furey Fat Flush.

Turns out I created a bit of confusion as it's not called the Furey Fat Flush - even though that is most definitely what it does.

The program is called the 3-Day Furey Fat Blast - and members of the Furey Faithful can download it gratis ON the member's site. You'll find it under the category How to Drop 7-10 Pounds in 3 Days.

In this same section you'll also find several other goodies that you can download. Listed below are some of the other items available for download when you're a member:

• Eat More - Weigh Less - a riveting special report that will do far more for you, health wise, than help you lose weight.

• How to Eliminate Seasonal Allergies - in this report I reveal how people are eliminating seasonal allergies without shots, medicine or radical dietary changes. So simple you'll be stunned.

• The Power of Concentration - this is a classic book that will not just have you setting goals - but achieving them because you have the key ingredient missing in so many other self-help courses.

• 7 Keys to Successful Fitness - this report goes way back to when I was a personal trainer in California and what I did to help people succeed without an ounce of motivation or rah-rah.

The other day I mentioned a special report I'm putting together on how to stop snoring. I said it would go out "by mail" later this month. A few info-hungry people thought it would be available for instant download right now. Sorry. Once again, it is going out by MAIL later this month.

By the way, if you aren't a member of the Furey Faithful - all you've got to do to test-drive it for a month is get a copy of Combat Conditioning.

I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to keep this offer alive - so those who fail to act at this time may have to wait a long time before I make some of the goodies in this package available once again.

Matt Furey

P.S. By the way, enrollment in my Lightning Fast Catch Wrestling Seminar is going great. It will most likely sell out soon - so make sure you grab a seat today.

Terry Brock Interviews Matt Furey

The Cell Phone Cancer Connection

Years ago, after holding a cell phone to my ear for extended periods of time, I noticed that the side of my head that I held the phone on felt irritated.

In fact, my ear and jaw hurt and I started getting mild headaches.

This was back in 2000.

A lawyer friend told me NEVER to hold a cell phone to my ear - unless the conversation was short.

Why?

Because he believed it could lead to cancer. And his good buddy, who died of brain cancer, used to talk all day long with his cell to his ear.

"Look, I can't prove it," he said. "They'll need a couple decades to definitively say for sure, but I feel very strongly that there is a link - and I don't want to find out my hunch is right when it's too late."

Since that day I use my cell phone as a speaker phone. With rare exception, I don't hold it to my ear. And on the rare occasion when I have held it to my ear for a prolonged private conversation, I definitely feel the difference.

Electromagnetic radiation is a very real thing. And although much is not conclusively proven, there are enough instances of cancer and other health problems that WISDOM says to back off. Make no assumptions about cell phones or cell towers being harmless. Especially when children are involved.

That's right. Children.

One of the big movements by cell phone companies in America is putting cell towers on campus at grade schools. For a measly nine or ten thousand bucks, principals at your local school will subject hundreds of young children to high powered electromagnetic radiation.

No big deal, they tell you. But when the incidence of head aches, leukemia and so on break out - and they ARE - what can they say AFTER the damage has already been done.

Young children's brains and skulls are not as fully developed as an adult's. This means that the child absorbs FAR MORE radiation when using a cell phone - or when going to school in a cell tower zone.

Like smoking, like asbestos, some scientists warn that we don't have enough evidence. But by the time they're done collecting evidence, perhaps you'll wish you'd showed more caution.

Today, there are some scientists who are simultaneously waiving the WARNING flag while saying we need more research.

One such scientist is Dr. Ronald B. Herberman, director of the Univ. of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, who sent a memo to 3,000 faculty and staff saying that children should use cellphones only for emergencies because their brains are still developing. He advised adults to keep cellphones away from the head and use the speaker phone or a wireless headset.

"Although the evidence is still controversial, I am convinced that there are sufficient data to warrant issuing an advisory to share some pre-cautionary advice on cellphone use," he wrote in his memo.

I agree.

Listed below are 10 Precautions for Cell Phone Usage

1. Do not allow children to use cell phones except in an emergency.

2. Put cell phone in speaker and keep away from body as you speak.

3. Don't use cell phone in places like a bus where you can expose others to radiation.

4. Do not carry your cell phone on your body at all times.

5. Do not keep your cell phone near your body while you sleep.

6. Use a land line for longer conversations.

7. Switch sides if you must hold the cell to your ear to spread out the exposure.

8. Don't use cell phone when signal is weak or when you're driving at considerable speed. This increases the radiation to make contact.

9. Use text messaging more.

10. Use cell phones with the lowest SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) ratings, which you can quickly research online.

Without a doubt, cell phones have become a big part of many peoples' lives.

Use them wisely. Make no assumptions about them being perfectly safe. They're not.

P.S. What's better than using your cell phone to talk to friends? It's working out with them to the tune of Combat Conditioning - my international best-seller. Find out if you really can TURN FAT INTO MUSCLE.

The Unsung Hero of Exercise

Virtually anyone can do it. So it's easily taken for granted. Even pooh-poohed by some in today's gadgetized fitness world.

But if you do it everyday - especially after your evening meal - the Chinese believe you'll extend your life - perhaps to 100 years or more.

What is this unsung hero of exercise?

It's walking.

Yes, walking. Traveling by foot for 30-90 minutes per day while observing your breathing and clearing your mind of cobwebs.

Chances are excellent that in your earlier years, you walked everyday to and from school. You didn't even think of it as exercise. It was nothing more than a practical form of transportation.

Today, many people in our country only walk when going to their refrigerator. I say 'going to' because some people are so lazy they don't immediately grab something and return to their original catatonic state before the idiot box.

A few weeks ago a man told me that his 13-year old daughter, who weighs 175 pounds, is so lazy she opens the refrigerator and begins to eat while standing. She doesn't even close the door while she eats.

I told him, "If she's 175 pounds at 13, she's going to be 275 pounds by 18 if you don't help her change her ways."

He agreed. But he's never home and his wife "LOVES" her daughter so much she cannot say no to her over-eating.

Excuse me, sir, but that isn't "love." That's neglect.

Best thing you can do for a modern day couch whale is take him or her for a long walk - every single day. Not a three-times-per-week routine. DAILY TRAINING.

We live in a like-father-like-son, like-mother-like-daughter world. If the parent doesn't set a good example, don't expect the kid to figure it out on his or her own.

Yesterday my 4-year old began her day with a walk on the beach with her grandmother, who is from China. When she returned I had her do Whirling Dervishes, Hindu squats, Hindu pushups, Tablemakers, leg lifts and reverse pushups.

21 repetitions of each exercise.

All the exercises straight out of Combat Conditioning which families would be wise to use together. Especially right now, when you receive five highly-prized free gifts with your order.

Now, to be fair, I also grabbed my son, who is 8, and had him do similar exercises - some from Combat Conditioning - some from Combat Abs. Then, as a family we walked to a restaurant for brunch. After brunch we walked to the beach - and kept walking for a good hour.

And this, my friend, is how it was originally done all over Asia - and is still done by many today.

Walking is part of your daily routine. It's exercise - but it's also something you "just do." It's an unsung hero.

You walk to and from your tai chi, yoga or body weight exercises class. You walk to eat and then you walk home. You walk to work - and return home the same way.

No, I'm not saying you should make a 20-mile commute on foot each day. Or a 10-mile walk to the gym.

What I am saying is that you'll increase the odds of living longer if you find time each day to walk. Do Combat Conditioning, Combat Abs or any of my other best-selling programs - but don't forget to walk.

The Dunkin' Donuts Workout

Last month Dunkin' Donuts in the Tampa area gave out free coffee. And guess what happened?

Free-loaders visited in droves. They didn't buy a freakin' thing. Nothing. Just took the coffee and ran.

I was told this by a couple people who witnessed this.

I said: "You mean they didn't require that the visitor be a customer in order to get the coffee?"

"Unfortunately, NO," he said. "And they took advantage in a big way."

"No kiddiing?" I replied.

"It's a sign of the times," he said. "We're now living in a something for nothing society."

"Well, there's one good thing about what DD did," I said.

"What's that?" he asked.

"At least them didn't give them donuts."

He laughed.

"And one good thing," I said. "People at DD don't congregate in droves and hang out all day, sitting on their rumps, typing on lap tops and fiddling with a crack berry."

For the most part, they grab their coffee, their donuts or their multi-grain bagels and run.

Provided you follow your trip to DD with a set of Hindu Pushups, Hindu Squats and more - you're better off than just having a drink or bite to eat.

After all, exercise is still KING.

Now, unlike DD, I have a bunch of freebies that I give to people who have the guts to take the plunge, to take one step forward into a better life - without donuts.

In fact, I am now giving away five gifts to those who are willing to do something good for themselves this very instant.

Find out what these five gifts are by going here.

P.S. One of the gifts is a deck of playing cards with exercises straight out of Combat Conditioning.
