After Sunday’s email on my all-new 5 x 5 in 5 system – which will be going up on the FureyFaithful.com member’s site later this week, a number of questions arose that I will cover now:
Q: “I’m (50, 60, 70 or more years of age) – will I be able to follow your program?”
A: Yes, provided you are reasonably healthy and don’t have any debilitating orthopedic injuries. If you have knee, hip and back pain – you may find your pain subsiding – but there’s a difference between pain and having a serious medical condition. Always check with your physician before getting involved in any fitness regimen.
Q: Are any of the exercises you teach done fast or with jerky unstable movements?
A: All the exercises are done slowly and methodically. This is important as it not only reduces the risk of injury substantially, but you end up getting stronger in throughout the entire kinetic chain, including the tendons AND the muscles. When you exercise quickly you bypass all the mistakes and irregularities in your approach. You bypass weaknesses thatultimately lead to pain and debilitation. When you move slowly you learn where your true weaknesses are – and they are naturally and spontaneously corrected.
Q: How do physical exercises improve libido?
A: Great question. First, there’s no such thing as a purely physical exercise. Then again, some exercises are more beneficial to brain, body and bones than others. Some exercises are better for your internal organs and your endocrine system, especially hose in which the spine is moved in an undulating, spiral or curling/arching motion. This is why bench press and lat pulldowns, for example, may give you bigger muscles – but they do next to nothing for libido. They may actually be causing a problem.
Q: I used to be a member, can I enroll and not pay the initiation fee?
A: If your card expired a week or two ago and you didn’t “dump me” – yes. But if you left on purpose – the answer is unequivocally “no.”
The good news is that if you’re already an existing member or become one before the countdown monkey reaches zero – you are grandfathered in – and will not be subject to any increase in fees.
