More on Sleeping
Dear Friend,
Yesterday I totally goofed. When it came time to
give you the link for the Chinese Long-Life System
I gave the link for my Combat Conditioning book and
DVD's instead. Sorry, I'll correct that today.
In the meantime, the email from yesterday did bring
in a truckload of email - most of which I haven't even
had time to spy on.
One letter was as follows:
Matt,
Loved your take on going to bed on a different day than you
arise. But do you ever go to bed on the same day you get up.
S. Leeper Jones
M.F.: S. Leeper, good question. Most of the time I go to bed late at
night - which means early a.m. But yes, there are days that I get
up at 7 a.m. and go to bed around 10 or 11 P.M. They are not the
norm, but when my body is asking for a longer rest time - or an
earlier sack time, I listen to my body. The problem with most people
is they don't listen to their bodies. The body is saying, "Give me rest,"
and they pretend not to hear. Not a good practice.
Matt,
Your emails are fantastic. I have most of your products and plan to
get them all. Your Chinese Long-Life System is so simple yet so
profound. I'm doing the pressure point exercises on the first DVD,
then I skip to the slapping and massaging on DVD number three, and
by that time I'm so wired that I fly through the Royal Court and Magnificent
Seven like they're going out of style. You are truly leading the charge, my
friend.
Now for my question, sometimes after a really hard workout I feel sleepy.
Is that normal or am I doing something wrong.
Bob Schneider
M.F.: Bob, thanks for your business and for your support. Glad you like
the products. Regarding your question on sleep after a good hard workout,
the answer is YES. This is a case of your body wanting to release a batch
of growth hormone, just like it does when you sleep at night - so after a
kick-butt workout, like hill sprints, for example, you may get sleepy. My
advice is to go with the desire to sleep. You only need 20-30 minutes and
then your power is not only restored but amplified. Naturally, if you train
before work, this may not be possible. So save your harder training for
evening, then you get the best of both worlds - a great workout followed
by a long period of sleep.
Matt,
I think you're a total dork. Don't send me anymore of your schlocky
emails.
F. Rust Ated
M.F.: Done deal dude. You're now officially a goner.
Matt,
Is there any religion in your Chinese Long-Life System. I don't
want to get your product if it's promoting Eastern religion.
James
M.F.: James, the only religion promoted in the Chinese Long-Life System is the religion of daily exercise. It's not just a Sunday or
Saturday night thing. It's a daily thing - preferably done in the a.m.,
right after visiting the porcelain god in the bathroom. Best of luck to
you.
Well, my friend, tis all for today's lesson.
