If You Think Your Battle to Get Supremely Fit is Rough - Read This

Matt,

Hi. Thane Larson here. I decided to try your book Combat Conditioning. I've had it for about a month now. This is good stuff.

Well, how would I know? Let me explain. I was assaulted last October by a freaked out methamphetamine addict. I've always known how to take care of myself, but I had drank a couple beers that night, and this creature attacked me, simply because I wouldn't answer his questions about making methamphetamine (he knew I had a degree in chemistry through someone else we BOTH knew).

I didn't expect him to kick me in the chest, just because I wouldn't tell him how to make methamphetamine.

Well, I went down writhing in pain (he kicked me hard enough to actually have caused bruising on and around my heart WITHOUT cracking my sternum, thank God). This is just the beginning.

While on the floor in pain, he came around and started kicking me in the head. He cracked in my skull quite good in a couple places. This caused a hand sized subdural hematoma pressing down on my brain. Well, while this idiot was trying to drag me away somewhere to hide me or do God knows what with me - a neighbor saw and called the police.

After brain surgery, and a month long stay in the hospital (all November) I'm out, back to work, driving again (DMV makes ALL serious head injuries retest).

ANYWAYS, I was getting back into working out again, because staying fit keeps me feeling human. Because I was paralyzed on my left side for three weeks, my strength and coordination weren't as good. Some of the wiring (nerves) must've been crossed or mixed up.

I was offered "physical therapy" and all sorts of stuff, but decided I'd do it on my own. Your exercises are WORKING as physical therapy quite well. I can feel sections of muscles in my arms, legs and upper body, becoming a little sore, but as they recover, my normal coordination and strength is returning.

I'm just using Hindu squats, pushups and back bridges so far. I AM having to ease into it slow, but I can tell, the muscle wiring (nerves), is returning to normal and my strength is coming back. These exercises could be considered physical therapy for people with injuries like mine.

Now, granted I lucked out. I COULDA ended up as a total invalid or dead (if a neighbor hadn't seen the "goings on"). But these exercises are very helpful. I'll be ordering more from you, I'd like to see Street Grappling too.

From now on, I doubt I'll ever drink another beer and I will always keep a certain "space" around myself. I'm not as trusting as I used to be. If you want to see what I looked like (in the hospital), see the attached picture.

Thanks !!
