Super Strength From One Pushup
Dear Friend,
Had a guy email to ask if he could get stronger doing
"one pushup per day." Well, the answer to this question may
surprise you.
Truth is there are many people who have let themselves
go for so long that doing one pushup is a current impossibility.
Yet, at the same time, if these people are willing to do as I suggest
and "begin wherever you are" - it won't be long before they get
stronger and stronger.
Now, let's say you cannot do a single pushup yet. What should you
do? How can you get stronger when you can't even do "one rep"
of something?
Answer is simple: Get into the top or midway position of the
pushup and hold as long as you can. It won't take long for your
limbs to begin shaking like a maple leaf on a windy day in Iowa.
And yes, doing this seemingly "too simple" exercise will increase
your strength and stamina. In fact, it's even a good practice for
much more advanced trainees.
Think you're already in great shape? Already able to bang out
record numbers of Hindu pushups? Great - then get into a pushup
position, bend your arms to the midway position, or lower, and hold
for a minute. Guarantee it will whoop your buht.
Simply holding a position or series of positions can totally transform
your level of fitness. So give it a whirl.
Now, a quick move over to a bunch of great emails from the Furey
tribe. I hope you find great motivation and inspiration from these -
because I sure do. Here goes:
Matt,
I have been reading about your Carpal Tunnel Fix program for some time
now and am not sure if I have carpal
tunnel or not. My pain happens when I do a push up with a flat palm. The
pain is in the back side of my hand and wrist in the tendons there. Do
you
think your program will help this? I would like your straight no BS
answer
that you give on so many other subjects.
Thanks,
Mike
M.F.: Mike, the answer is yes. It should help you a lot.
Hey Matt,
I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you my
testimonial of what your Combat Conditiong program has done for
me.
I purchased your book about a year and half ago but never really did
the
exercises much. I felt I was already pretty strong at 5' 7" 180 lbs.
while
sporting a 305 lb Bench, a 405 lb squat, and a 365 lb deadlift.
About 4 months ago I decided to resume my formal martial arts training
after
a 5 year hiatus by signing up to a Muay Thai gym. It was at that point
when I
started my first class that I realized that all the weight lifting
strength I possessed
wasn't worth spit. The beginner Muay Thai class warm up consisted of
several sets
of push-ups, jumping squats, lunges and burpees that left my muscles
screaming
and begging for mercy and my lungs gasping for every bit of air
possible. By the
time I got to work on the Thai pads, I could barely last half a round
before I doubled
over with my hands on my knees.
I then remembered those Combat Conditiong tapes and book I had
purchased from
you about a year earlier and how similar its routines were to the class
warm up that
nearly killed me.
I then re-reviewed your videos and your book while methodically piecing
together
my own personal Combat Conditiong routine and slowly weeding out my
weight lifting program. After about three solid months of Hindu
squats/push-ups and back bridging,
I feel like a super athlete (by my standards). All the joint pain I
used to regularly receive from heavy weights have become a distant
memory, the speed and power of my punches
and kicks seem to have doubled, and the class warm up now just feels
like a warm up.
I also injured my ribs while on the receiving end of a
knockout inducing knee to the
body by my instructor during a sparring session and to my amazement was
healed
by none other than Hindu push-ups after rest and icing it up did
nothing.
Thanks for helping me get in the best shape of my life and I can't wait
to get my hands
on your Gama Fitness program.
Sincerley
Philip Yap
M.F.: Philip, fantastic news. Wish you greater success.
Matt,
Bought Combat Conditiong and then Combat Abs, 3 weeks later.
The first week I emailed you and thanked you for relieving 90% of my
hip and lower back pain. And my wife stops thinking this is my fad of
the week and reads the book.
In two weeks I stopped getting out of breath at top of stairs.
In three weeks my wife wants to read Combat Abs. I start doing some
handstands.
In four weeks my Doctor takes me off the High blood pressure
medicine. And tells
me I have lost 12 pounds since my last yearly checkup (from 202 lbs to
190.5 lbs.).
I did not think he would believe me that the weight came off in about
25 days, thanks
to Combat Conditiong.
In five weeks I KNOW I am using one belt buckle hole less. Still some
back pain though
so I reread the lower back pain flyers that came with Combat Conditiong and use the flat footed squat. Felt the muscles slowly
release I think that put me up to 98% better.
Today at 6 weeks I am 2 belt buckle holes less. Stopped weighing
myself at 5 weeks
because the results are obvious making the numbers unimportant.
Okay the weekly diary sounds like I'm Super dedicated and on some
restrictive diet
(no way). There were times that at days end I thought I could have
done more Hindu
Squats or forgot to bridge but got sidetracked by something (Work, Wife
and 3 Daughters).
I did give up sugar but besides that no real restrictions just made
Matt Furey part of my
Daily Life because the exercises make me feel better.
Nothing else to say except, thank you.
Daniel Meyers
Westfield, New York
M.F.: Daniel, all I can say is "Wow." You are awesome.
Matt,
I'm 56, 57 at the end of this month. I've been doing the Farmer Burns
Stomach Flattener
in Combat Abs and Hindu
Squats for about 4 weeks. Matt I'm amazed at how much energy I have
now. I've lost about 10 pounds and
4 inches off my waist. My doctor reports that my blood sugar levels
and cholesterol are all
going down. He is really impressed with my progress. My biggest
problem right now is keeping my pants up. I never imagined I'd have to
buy a new wardrobe with this program!
Thank's for putting this program together. It's really great.
Frank Bolan
M.F.: Frank, you're living proof that these exercises work at any age.
More power to you.
Matt,
My husband started doing Combat Conditiong on Jan 1st and already the
change
in him is phenomenal! I can't keep my hands off him! I always thought
he looked
good but now.....! oh my goodness, his chest, arms, legs and his butt.
He just
ordered Combat Abs and we are both going to try it. I can't wait to see
what the
abs workout does. thanks a million.
Jeff's happy wife
P.S. Don't even get me started on how his new stamina has improved our
love life!
M.F.: Oooh laaaa laaaa.
Hey Matt,
Thanks to your Combat Conditiong book, my vertical jump and basketball
game has
been taken to the next level. Using your book I have gained speed,
focus, and an
increase in the vertical. No weights and no strength shoes - just your
book I went from
a 4 point a game scorer to a 12 point scorer out of a 21 point game.
Your product was the first item I have ever bought on the internet and
it truly works.
When I first showed my girlfriend the book she laughed and said "get
that book out of
here". I told her to try the 3 Royal court excersise and after 2 weeks
she has lost 3 "INCHES".
Using this book will not just change the body but will change the
mindset. I now know that
I have the edge over the any man guarding me on the basketball court.
Give you an update
in June!
Thanks
John D.
P.S. 5 second abs is the truth!! I would of paid 29.95 just for that
excersise!
M.F.: John, great news. Let me know when you're jamming it from the free
throw
line.
Well, that's all for now.
Kick butt - take names!
