Seven years ago, after taking prescribed medications following eye surgery, my body blew up to an all-time high of 267 pounds.
I was so fat and stiff that I could barely turn to … (well, you can probably figure that one out.)
To say I was embarrassed would be the understatement of the year.
Upon looking up the medications prescribed to me following surgery, I was horrified. Not only was weight gain a common side-effect, but so were ruptured tendons and ligaments.
Y’OUUUCH!
No wonder I was so stiff.
I threw the medication out as soon as I read about the side-effects, and used an alternative method.
Over time, with good diet and my trusted exercise system, my weight reduced. But at almost 50 years of age, I found that the weight no longer flew off my body the way it did in my younger years.
Can you relate?
This means I had to “work my ass off” to get to 228 pounds.
And to get to 228 – which is what I weighed when pictures were taken for my international best-seller, Combat Conditioning, 20 years ago, I had to live an ultra-strict dietary lifestyle.
Last fall, though, I made a number of HUUUUUUGE Breakthroughs.
I made several key discoveries that made maintaining 228 easy. In fact, it became so easy I dropped to 218… and then…
I decided to do the unthinkable.
I would go several steps further.
I would reduce to my fighting weight of 198 pounds (90 kg) – what I weighed when I won the world championships in Shuaijiao Kung Fu in Beijing, China, in 1997.
198 pounds was a weight I hadn’t seen since 1 weighed in on December 23, 1997, and my desire to get to this weight again was, in part, to prove someone wrong.
“Furey will NEVER see that weight again,” a fellow martial artist said.
“Thank you for the motivation,” I replied.
Off to the races I ran.
Within one month I not only dropped to 198 pounds, but I’ve done even better since then.
I’m enjoying the positive feedback I’m getting on Instagram – @mattfureysays – as well as my Facebook Group – Matt Furey Combat Conditioning+.
And NOW… I am going to go ONE GIANT STEP further.
What am I going to do?
I am going to hold an all-new Fast Fitness and Flexibility Seminar and bring the good news of my discoveries to you so you can benefit more than ever before.
This fitness seminar will be the granddaddy of them all. It will be a life-changer. It will give you the tools to go where you may not have imagined going before – or at least, not for a long long time.
The Fast Fitness and Flexibility Seminar will be held June 13-14 (with a possible certification day on June 15, perhaps on another topic, perhaps not).
I’ll be putting up the webpage for this event later this week, but if you already know you want to attend, write me personally and I will help you enroll early via PayPal to save big.
More forthcoming.
In the meantime, remember to…
Kick ass – take names!
