Hi Matt. I’ve read all about your energy levels driving cross country and stuff but that doesn’t do nothing for me. I want to know what I can do to get my ass outta my chair. Somedays I don’t feel up to even doing that. I feel lethargic and blah all the time and I know this is at least part of the reason my joints hurt me so much. I know I’m just feeling sorry for my self but how do I overcome this and start to get some of that energy you keep writing about.
Leigh. Z. Arse
Dear Leigh .Z.
You get your rumpus out of your chair by seeing yourself standing. You get yourself exercising by seeing yourself exercising. And you keep your butt glued to your chair by picturing that as where you are going to stay. Everything, including every movement you make, begins with a mental picture. That’s what gets the ball rolling.
Now, once you’re out of your chair, you increase your energy levels dramatically by doing spiraling and circular movements for the major joints of your body. You start with your hips, then move to your knees, then your shoulders, waist and neck. With zero exaggeration, after doing a dozen rotations for your hips alone – each side – you will begin to immediately feel your energy levels rise.
I spend a significant period of time covering these spiraling exercises in my Power Postures course. If all you do is follow along with me with these exercises, a monumental shift will begin taking place inside of you, and you’ll want to do them everyday. Unless, of course, you prefer feeling blah all the time.
After doing the spiraling exercises, you could also begin with the first of the Power Postures I teach. Start with an easily achievable goal such as five minutes. Follow my instructions and you’ll be amazed. If you do this every day for a week, you’ll want more.
Why? Because in addition to your energy levels rising, you will also begin to notice that your joint pain is going bye-bye.
Now the question remains as to whether you’re content to remain in your chair or get up off your duff. If you choose to stay in your chair, what are the consequences of doing so? How are you going to feel a year from now if you don’t make a choice to get up and move?
That’s the question for YOU to answer.
If you choose to “rise up and move,” then go to PowerPostures.com and get started NOW.
Kick ass – take names.
