Q: What’s the best age to start your child on the superhuman exercises I teach in Combat Conditioning for Kids?
A: When my son, Frank, was two years of age, he began following me in my morning workout as I performed Hindu squats. He did so on his own, with no prompting from me. Frankly, I was surprised. I didn’t expect this to happen. Yet, it did.
Children are wonderful imitators. That’s why we’re advised not to swear in front of them.
When I was doing pushups, Frank imitated me as well. He did his best version of Hindu pushups as well as some chair pushups. It sure was funny to watch him trying to dip his little body in between a set of chairs.
As for bridging, he did that, too.
Children have virtually no limits on how they can stretch and move – compared to adults, that is.
And the amazing thing is they don’t even need to know how to read. In fact, most of the boys and girls who have Combat Conditioning for Kids don’t read any of the instructions. They simply look at the marvelous cartoon sketches of yours truly, and they are off to the races.
As a parent, you can read the instructions to make sure they get all the details, but you’ll probably be surprised when you see them figuring most of it out on their own, by doing.
A huge part of the program is the Matt Furey Exercise Bible, that comes along with the book. Each poker card has one of the four main exercises your child needs to be doing to develop total body fitness. You can help out by dealing the cards and telling them how many pushups, squats, and so on are required.
So yes, your child can start at a young age. Three or four-years of age is superb. Older than that is awesome, too.
And if you still have a child within you, you can jump in with them. The more people in your family doing the exercises, the merrier your family will be.
Yes. ’tis true.
