Father Time was spotted at an NBA game last night, watching the Phoenix Suns trounce the Los Angeles Lakers at home, 125-108
Footage has circulated on the web showing Father Time laughing as the man with “Chosen One” tattooed on his back struggled to keep his 10-point streak alive.
In the blowout game that head coach J.J. Redick had already conceded when the Lakers were down by 25 points, Lakers players Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves were on the bench as LeBron remained on the court, determined to add four more points to his stats.
And by golly, James did get those four points, in part from a referee who called a non-foul a foul, putting LeBron at the line where he made one out of two free-throws. A bit later in the fourth quarter, LeBron added a miraculous three-pointer to get his 10 points, then Redick immediately pulled him out of the game to rest up for the next outing on Thursday, which is only three days away.
Questions remain as to whether James will be ready to go then. Will he make himself available against the highly-touted Toronto Raptors, or will he sit that one out to “load manage,” due to the fact that the Lakers also have a game scheduled on Friday?
An online lip-reader claims he saw Father Time making controversial and highly insensitive comments to his girlfriend about LeBron and Coach Redick, where he allegedly stated, “Back-to-back games are harder on today’s players than they have ever been. I realize players in previous eras could fly across the world and be ready for a game the next day, but today’s inflated salaries make that impossible, regardless of how much the fans paid to see their favorite players in action. It’s unrealistic to think that a coach would ever demand a player actually earn the $50+ million dollar salary he gets.”
Despite Lebron James obvious decline, relentless stat-padding and horrendous performances in the NBA finals and playoffs, his loyal fanboys still consider him to be the G.O.A.T.
