The other day I received a message from a man who is ecstatic about his fitness and conditioning progress.
“Let me tell you,” he says. “I’ve been doing the first four exercises in Farmer Burn religiously and the results are amazing. The biggest surprise to me is that I no longer need to take an afternoon nap. And on top of that, when I do my regular exercises, I’m stronger in all of them. Straight across the board, I’m improving.”
I held back my thoughts about afternoon naps.
Unlike so many others in western society, I don’t view napping as negative. At the same time, if someone changes a routine and it supercharges his energy levels and he no longer needs a nap, more power to him.
To get such a benefit, you do the Farmer Burns exercises in the morning.
What about in the evening?
Well, the Farmer does tell you that a period of exercise before bed is also a good idea. If you do his deep breathing exercises for five minutes (or longer) in the morning and for another five minutes before bed, you’ll get better results.
Will doing the Farmer’s exercises before bed keep you up all night or will they help you go to sleep?
That’s something you’ll want to experiment with to see how the shoe fits. Personally, exercise before bed helps me sleep, but it does depend on what type. Deep breathing exercises along with stretching are definitely the ticket.
And you’ll find plenty of both in the Farmer Burns Course and my Combat Stretching program.
Have at ’em.
Kick Ass…
