Toxic Muscularity Syndrome
Negatively Affects Young Boys
Dear Guru Furey,
What do mean by “toxic muscularity syndrome?” I thought muscles were important for health and an inspiration to young boys.
A: Relaxed, mobile and supple muscles you can do something with athletically other than lift weights are healthy and no threat to young boys. Football-sized traps and bulging unflexed biceps are toxic because impressionable boys think muscles should always be rigid. This notion negatively affects the brain and may lead to cognitive corruption.
