SWFL – How about Southwest Florida?
That’s correct but there’s more.
SWFL is a mnemonic for recalling four key longevity practices – often hailed by the Taoists as “immortality methods.”
They are as follows:
S- Squatting
W- Walking
F – Fasting
L – Laughing
Other than fasting, this list looks somewhat easy – or at least not too difficult.
But why would squatting be considered a longevity practice?
Because your legs, in many ways, act as your second heart.
Or as I learned long ago in China, “Ren lao, xian lao tui.”
Translation: “When you get old, your legs go first.”
What kind of squatting will help when it comes to longevity?
Here’s a list of five for you to ponder and use:
Gardener squats –
Hindu squats
Qi Gong squats
Jumping squats
Wall chair
All of the above represent different types of squats that require only one piece of equipment: You.
Some you can do for repetitions while others only require you to get into a position and remain there for a minute or longer.
You’ll find these exercises and much more at FureyFaithful.com
In fact, I just added a series of videos on training the ONE area of the body that turns average athletes and martial artists into superhuman machines.
What area of the body?
I’ll have more on that soon.
Later,
