If life seems to be moving so fast for you that its stressing you out, then slowly focus your eyes on what you’re about to read.
Take a deep breath – and relax.
What I’m about to tell you may be of great benefit to you.
Here it is in a nutshell: When you hurry, when you insist on doing everything as quickly as possible, time races by. It spins out of control. Or it seems as though it is doing so.
Ask yourself, how fast has this year gone by? How about the last five years?
It’s like a flicker, isn’t it?
But…
When you move slowly, and you move suuuuuuuuuuuper sloooooooowly, time neither speeds up nor slows down.
It streeeeeeeeeeeeeeetches.
It even feels as if it doesn’t exist.
How do I know such a thing? What is my proof?
Well, as the saying doesn’t exactly go, “the proof is in the PRACTICE.”
When I practice Dao Zou, the shamanic way of walking I teach, I do so slowly. When I practice all the patterns in Warrior Walking, once again, I do so super slow. The same goes for my tai chi practice.
Do I ever move quickly? Yes, I do.
But most of the time, I take “my time,” and in doing so, time feels as though it doesn’t exist.
What’s even more, when I slow down I get more done faster.
All this hurry, hurry, hurry leads to worry, worry, worry.
People today are riddled with stress, anxiety, worry, the blues, and so on. And one of the biggest reasons for this is the hustle-bustle mentality.
When you hurry you don’t feel you’re getting more done. Instead, you always feel you’re behind the 8-ball.
Working on moving faster is good for you. I’m not against it. But the truth is that there’s more to be learned about your body and mind when you slow the train down… or put yourself into a posture and remain still.
In the slowness and the stillness you discover your internal energy, your internal strength and power. It’s always there for you – if you take the time to transcend it.
Slowness leads to wholeness.
Whole brain – whole body.
Want to live a life of effortless ease, where you get more done than ever before?
