“You are getting stronger and stronger; stronger than you’ve ever been in your life. Very, very strong.”
The above is a quote I read many years ago and modified a tad to suit my purposes.
You may not believe this, but strength has more to do with the connections from your brain and nervous system to your muscles than from your muscles alone.
Meatheads go to the gym and workout, ignoring the mental aspect of the game, preferring instead to supposedly “just do it.”
You can make progress with this method, but there’s a reason that all the big guns in the world of strength, sports and fitness practice seeing themselves the way they want to be.
And that reason is because it makes a monumental difference.
The other day I received a question from a student who recently added my new product, Warrior Walking, to his routine.
He asked me if it would be more beneficial to do all the walking patterns much faster instead of in the slow-motion way I teach them.
I told him that you move slowly so that you become aware of and see where your imbalances are. You move slowly so that you can feel your balance and your strength increasing.
If you do everything fast, you never learn how sloppy your movements are as speed hides your weaknesses.
And those weaknesses eventually show up as knee, hip, foot, back and ankle pain.
It may seem counterintuitive, but moving slow takes more strength than rushing through something. You literally get to feel your body getting stronger faster when you slow it down.
You can test this out for yourself.
From a square stance, quickly lift one knee toward your chest and put it back down.
Now, slowly lift the same knee to the same position, taking five seconds to do so.
What did you discover?
There’s a reason for the adage, “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.”
Move slowly and you can always add speed later on, but when doing so, there will be a powerful, connected and strong force behind it.
Warrior Walking trains your mind and your body to get stronger and stronger. Very strong. Stronger than you’ve ever been in your life.
Get it NOW and you will make a believer out of yourself.
