Hi Mr. Furey,
I just wanted to send a note of thanks for writing Combat Conditioning. I first learned of your book from a boyfriend I had in college who was an Army Ranger. I was a tennis player, and used the exercises to condition myself in addition to the training I received from my coaches. I went on to become a personal trainer, then alignment and movement therapist. Fast-forward 22 years later, and I continually come back to this book for the exercises and the fantastic points on breathing and concentration. In my experience, nothing makes me feel better than Hindu Squats, Hindu Pushups, and Backbends!
Many thanks!
Katie Phillips
Hi Katie,
Now that is absolutely awesome! Thank you for writing to let me know. Getting a letter such as yours makes my day.
It also makes me ponder the days back in the fall of 1999, when I was writing Combat Conditioning on a blue iMac that resembled a Volkswagen Beetle. My desk at that time was a card table, and my chair was just as cheap. Yet from that platform, a book that paved the way for a revolution in bodyweight calisthenics was born. Hallelujah!
Matt Furey
P.S. Combat Conditioning is now in a smaller, spiral-bound format, making it easier to carry in a gym bag, suitcase or backpack. You can still get the DVDs or book mailed to you, or you can opt for digital delivery.
