Here are a couple questions I recently received along with my answers:
Question from Gaurav D
I’d like to share an interesting experience. As I’ve started incorporating Hindu squats into my routine, I’ve noticed an improvement in my ability to hold the horse stance. What’s intriguing is that I feel a surge of internal power during both Hindu squats and the horse stance. My question is whether this sense of internal power in both exercises is similar to what’s often associated with fighting energy. It appears distinct from the energy I experience when performing Hindu pushups. Matt, I’d greatly appreciate your insight on whether this observation is accurate or if it might be a misconception.
MF: The energy from Hindu squats and the horse stance activates a rising and a grounding energy within. The bubbling spring point in the bottom of the foot sends healing and transformative energy throughout the body. The bubbling spring energy with Hindu squats is not so much a watery energy, it is springy in a metallic sort of way.
Hindu pushups have more of a grounding, earthy energy, especially when done with the details I teach. All of these exercises translate to fighting energy, increased speed, mobility, strength and the unparalleled ability to focus and concentrate.
Question from Shawn Zemba
Matt,
I’m just wondering, as there are many “martial skills” that you teach and practice, what ratio of your training is practicing those skills vs building internal power specifically?
Or is it that you’re at the point where they are the same?
What do you recommend for those earlier on the path ratio wise?
MF: Everything I do has an internal component. There are no ratios. The Power Postures exercises I teach develop internal power with the least amount of movement. Hindu squats and pushups are much, much bigger movements, but if you do them the way I teach, not anyone else, you definitely develop internal as well as external power.
If you have questions you want to see covered in future emails, send them my way. Would love to hear from you.

P.S. I have room for one more person at my Power Postures-Tiger Tendons Seminar being held October 5-7, in Kalispell, Montana. If you have the basic course and you are interested in attending, email me. Keep in mind you will be vetted, and you will not find information on this event without getting the private link directly from me, which I only make available to those whom I want to work with.
