Got home circa 1 AM last night after a hardcore sauna and cool plunge. Sat in my big chair and did some reading, then at 2 AM decided it was time to hit the hay.
Walked into el baño to spray the toilet, flicked on the light and la cucaracha taunted me, questioning my speed, dexterity and martial nature.
Oh, I don’t enjoy being taunted. Especially by a nasty undesirable.
So I took a deep breath and played the decoy game, appearing not to look, all the while using peripheral vision to observe the pest. La cucaracha didn’t see my fingers flick it, until it was too late. It staggered and stumbled and began to play possum.
Not to be fooled, I delivered the knockout blow, wrapped it up in toilet paper, crushed it some more, then sent it sailing into the garbage.
Believe it or not, there are some people who won’t kill a cockroach. Here in Florida, some people rent apartments and allow the cockroaches to reign supreme.
A family friend told me how he and his wife were living in an apartment for a few months while their home was being renovated. Another couple invited them over for dinner, and these undesirable cockroaches were running all over the walls, pouring through the electrical outlets. And the renters of this apartment wouldn’t dare lift a finger against them. Incredible.
I don’t normally tell people what to do, but if I was invited into an apartment with creatures ruining the place, I’d be practicing an array of kicks, punches, finger jabs and thumb slices before I left. And this, my friend, is the good part about seeing a cockroach. They’re giving you an opportunity to test your speed and hand-eye coordination.
Do you still have the speed and mobility and nimbleness to smack a cockroach?
If not, you can regain it.
The exercises I teach in Combat Conditioning – now available with a spiral binding and clear cover that protects it from being damaged. It’s also now in the perfect size to put in your gym bag, carryon or backpack. Flip that bad-boy open in your hotel room, martial arts dojo, at the gym, in the park or in the privacy of your own home.
Combat Conditioning is great because of its simplicity. The three life-changing exercises, known as The Royal Court, will give you the momentum you want and need, so you, too, can say you’re one of the Furey Faithful.
Even if you already have the original book, you will probably want to have the spiral-bound edition as it will definitely come in handy.
A fair warning: Don’t put it in your bookcase, which can lead to you forgetting about it.
Put it on your nightstand or kitchen table; on your chair or credenza.
Put it on your pillow or dresser.
You want the book before you as much as possible, so you are always reminded to get up and do your daily duty.
Follow this advice and you’ll see the big picture.
You’ll see why I am always telling you to…
Kick Ass – Take Names!

By the way, we also have the Farmer Burns 1914 Classic, Lessons in Wrestling and Physical Culture, in a spiral-bound format, too. And it rocks!
